We only stayed one night and we had booked the 'superior' room - which was well worth it. Lovely big room, king sized bed, giant bathroom with corner bath, walk in shower and his and hers sinks. Loved the wooden furniture so much I googled the makers website to find that they're made of oak by a company in nearby Matlock. I'm not a carpenter but I could tell that they were made by craftspeople.
Nice ambience in the pub area, good menu and we tried their own brewed ales from their micro brewery. I was interested in the local history of the area as I couldn't spot the canal... Hearty breakfast too! There was plenty of on-site parking and handy for the Crich Tramway Museum.
