Hotel Capellan de Getsemani

We stayed at this hotel for my birthday, and overall we had a nice experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and in an excellent location. It’s right in the heart of the city, and you can easily walk to restaurants, shops, and many of the main attractions. We booked a room with a Jacuzzi, but unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy it because there was a strong sewer-like smell coming from it. We reported the issue but decided not to use it. Our room phone also wasn’t working, and one of the bathroom lights went out during our stay. We notified the front desk about both issues, but neither was fixed before we checked out. Another small disappointment was that we requested additional bottled water one evening, but it was never delivered. We also found out at checkout that everything in the mini fridge was available for purchase, but there wasn’t a menu or price list in the room letting us know there would be charges. Something to keep in mind is that there is no elevator. We stayed on the top floor (about the fourth floor), so carrying luggage up and down the stairs wasn’t ideal. The hotel has two small pools and a rooftop bar. During our stay, no one was really using the pools, and the rooftop bar never opened, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the location was definitely the highlight of our stay. If I were to visit again, I would probably skip the Jacuzzi room since we didn’t get to enjoy that feature. Despite a few maintenance and service issues, the hotel was clean.

The staff was VERY attentive from the time we arrived until we hopped in the Uber tonight fly out. The hotels communication was top notch. When the reservation was made the communication started. I really want to recognize Nataly and Maria at the front desk, Rey for taking care of us on arrival and departure, Will for making the best drinks and a great attitude, and Tatiana for giving exceptional service the entire stay. I’d more than recommend this location for the reasons mentioned and the excellent location to things in the city. You can make it to most places with a nice walk.

Excellent location to spend your days during in Cartagena. From reception by Nathalie to breakfast service by Liz, we have no words to say how helpful and attentive they were. At nighttime we would be greeted by the desk clerk as well. During every hour of day the staff was very helpful and made you feel welcomed. Highly recommend it.

It was a great place to stay at, the room was fantastic with 2 bathrooms 3 beds, the staff was great and the breakfast was delicious
