Carriage House Inn in Aiken SC was definitely a "home away from home". The charm of the 1800's main house was welcoming. Full of antique furniture and elements of an old southern home. Breakfast was a nice experience. The food was cooked to order with tables laid out in an eloquent style. Our room was clean, the bathroom very nice. Courtyards between the main house and cottages are cozy and full of beautiful plants and small fountain. Where our room was located we had our own courtyard to sit and relax. The parking was sparse but there is parking to the rear on a side street which was adequate. The property is located downtown so is walking distance to stores and restaurants. The staff were so helpful and the breakfast cook was wonderful. I came to Aiken to visit friends and when they saw Carriage House Inn for the first time they said it was " A hidden gem". I agree. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
