Madonna Halley Hotel

The hotel owner is a lovely, friendly, welcoming gentleman who engages in interesting conversation. He served us breakfast (coffee and pastries) in tableware that he had actually made himself (!) and told us all about his passion for ceramics. It was quite a unique stay. The building itself is highly unusual and has enormous charm. The garden/restaurant is a shisha restaurant and it looks as though you've been transported to a completely different place - it's got lush, green plants and pots of colourful flowers and sweeping arches - all made by hand by the owner. Extraordinary! It is not like being in North London at all - it's very exotic. I didn't get to spend an evening in the shisha restaurant but I understand that it's very popular. Our room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the tea, coffee and biscuits. There was a slight issue with the bathroom light but it was not a big problem. The shower is good. There are complimentary toiletries - always a bonus. The location was very good for me: I could get the tube back into central London when I wanted to and I could use my car to get to Barnet FC for the function I had to attend. The location couldn't have been better, really. Parking on the nearby street was not ideal but it worked out because I didn't end up with any parking charges or annoying any local residents.

Bedrooms need updating, showers were not power showers very low warm water, no fridge i. Room The room had no ac bedroom mattress could do with updating could feel the springs

Very impressed with what was described on your website as a simple room,comfortable, airy,spacious and clean. The location was perfect for our transport needs.

Great cleanliness, comfortable bed and easy enough access to Wembley which was the purpose of our trip. We didn’t use the bar/garden/restaurant facilities but they looked really nice.

Main road outside the property is very busy at all hours so was noisy as our room was on the front of the property. Parking is not as described, you are told to park on the drive at a neighbouring property if available. The hot water tap for the sink and hot water in the shower did not work in our room and we could not find staff members early in the morning before we needed to leave to ask about this. The shower door was also hanging off the rail. Also could not get the fan provided to work, it had been a hot day and the room was hot. The fire alarm was taped up which made us question the safety of it.
