The property was a few minutes walk to grocery store (Sainsbury), subway, bus and only a 15 min walk to Brick Lane and Spitafields as well as a short bus ride or a 20 min walk to Queen Mary University. I felt safe walking around the area in the evening as there are many people and families about. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. The property was very quiet in general. I always bring ear plugs to an urban environment but I did not need them during my stay. Owner also provided flat white coffee pods for the coffee maker. I would book this again.
We rushed the owners cleaning as he did not see our request for an early check in due to a glitch with booking.com, so hard to critique under the circumstances. We appreciated more that the owner was very kind and gracious accommodating us. However, given more time I did recommend a deep cleaning.
If you don’t like being at street level where people are walking by and having to close the drapes at night, this is not the place for you. I agree with other reviews that the fold down couches are fine for one adult per couch but would not be comfortable for two.

The host is so friendly, and let us check in at 11am after our flight from overseas with children. He made sure we ware comfortable and even helped cleaning the apartment himself after the previous guests. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if I go back to London.
