Maapagala Resort Sigiriya

Sehr ruhige Lage in der Natur. Der Pool war auch gut und das Frühstück war sehr sehr lecker. Wir haben auch eine Safari über das Resort gebucht die absolute Klasse war. Alles in allem ein schönes Resort.

Es gab zweimal einen kurzen Stromausfall. Ansonsten alles super.

Great location. Host was exceptional and very attentive! Breakfast was a feast and very nice.

Whole place could do with a bucket and sponge. Sun beds need a cushion! Shower head leaking and also confusing to work.

Great quiet location a short walk from the restaurants and a short tuktuk ride from the rock. Pool is also great. Rooms are simply but comfy with good AC. Dhanu was the best host, always available for anything we needed and he made us a lovely pack up breakfast for our sunrise hike.

The staff were polite and tried to be helpful when issues were raised. After I reported a serious problem with the first room, they did move me to another room and applied a small reduction, charging me for a smaller category. The location is convenient for visiting Sigiriya and the surroundings are peaceful.

The initial room had a very strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom, which was overwhelming and genuinely made me feel sick. I was told this was due to nearby paddy fields, but the smell was clearly coming from a drain/trap issue, not the surroundings. This is something that needs to be properly fixed, not explained away. Although I was moved to another room and given a small reduction, this situation should not occur in the first place. Wi-Fi was very slow and unreliable in the evenings (approximately 7–10pm). Breakfast was provided without any choice. While acceptable, this should be clearer in advance, as some guests may expect basic options.
