Beijing Xiaofengxian Former Residence Hotel Tiananmen Square Qianmen Store

Amazing hotel set in an old hutong mansion, transporting you back to the roaring ‘20s. Besides the cool design, the staff makes the place: super helpful, free breakfast, free afternoon tea (with a huge tower of Chinese tea cakes), free airport pickup and most importantly, they all speak English, which is hard to find in Chinese hotels and which makes life a lot easier for us heathens that don’t speak Chinese.

The service was outstanding, with breakfast, laundry and even a free raincoat for my bag included! The hotel is beautiful, quiet in terms of surrounding neighborhood. Breakfast was very generous - ordered the night before, but as much as you want.

There’s a short walk down a street too narrow for cars to drive and the puddles can be too big to jump in a downpour, but you’re going to get wet anyway! The plumbing doesn’t allow paper to be flushed, but that’s normal in old buildings and older parts of town.

We approached Beijing at 22:30, the delivery of baggage on the airport was delayed and the hotel owners transfer ( incuded) brought us after midnight to the area of joy, we got a very personal welcome from staff. Due to a booking accident they give us a cost free upgrade!! without asking. -Outstanding- The service and the rooms are splendid. Breakfast also very personal. The interior is just extraordinary and extremely matching. In the price included is laundry service, afternoon tea. The location is perfect for diving in the nightlife of Beijing Houtong, even sleeping in a very quiet surrounding. +++ We can just give 11 out of 10 points +++

Actually the “Tian'anmen Square Qianmen Street Branch” has nothing to do with the Tian’anmen Square. But this you see in the map. Nothing to complain, just a reminder!
