Hotel Middelland Rotterdam

The breakfast was "self-managed", but the personnel was always present and controlled that nothing was missing. Everything very tasty (warm pancakes, croissants, toast bread). The location is great: not too far from railway and central district (4-6 stations by bus/tram), but very quiet. The hotel has a very new structure, very comfortable. The rooms are tiny, but cosy, and the bathroom has got everything and - I'm sure - would satisfy Northeuropean travelers: shower water comes out very strong, which is often not the case in Italian hotels, my country. The service is very good: we asked for cleaning service a little too late, but the staff was so kind and managed to accomplish our wishes.

Something I wasn't expecting, but it may be that I didn't read correctly the Booking.com reservation, is that the hotel ha a policy of 100 euro cautionary money, to be refunded at the end of the holiday. The only thing that really disturbed me: I made with Booking.com my 3-days-reservation and then I needed to book only 1 night for my daughter: twice (not once! twice!) Booking.com let me go through the process of booking and paying for a good price "with an external partner" and twice I received 3 seconds later a mail telling me that the room, unfortunately, was not available anymore... twice I had to see my money disappear from my credit card and wait for 3-4 days in order to have it back (because the external partner's bank lies maybe 12,000 miles away...). At the end, I gave up and booked the one night directly by the hotel: in the meantime I lost good prices and ended up paying much more. I suggest Booking.com should be more careful with offers that no longer exist and maybe cut off the partners that can be trusted.

The water pressure in the shower was amazing. Great location, close to downtown. Friendly staff.

We stayed at the ground floor and I do not recommend it, very noisy all night, we heard everything. The staff couldn't help us with changing the room, because the hotel was full.
