It’s in an excellent spot, very vibrant Bistro. Very helpful staff.
This hotel is now looking very tired. The paint is chipped on all the doors as you pass them. Our room was cold. Reception couldn’t get the radiator to work, so she kindly brought us two heaters. The towel rail wasn’t working, there was mold at the bottom of the shower screen, and the bath was old and didn’t look very clean.

Staff were very good as was the breakfast. The Hotel location is perfect just on the outskirts of the town centre. (Betty's tea rooms are a short walk away)
We didn't have the evening meal in the hotel as there's numerous places locally with more varied menus but if it's anything like the breakfast it should be good.
Car parking is first come first served basis at £15 per night. If you are a blue badge holder it's free as is the on street parking directly outside the hotel
We stayed here a few years ago and loved it. Sadly the room decor is now looking somewhat tired. We booked a deluxe twin but the room didn't live up to previous experience. The view from the window was a wooden fence panel behind which we assumed from the intermittent noise was an air conditioning unit. Woke us up on a number of occasions. Recommend asking for a room to the front of the property.
