The studio is in a great location, just up the hill from the Sloop and around the corner from the Mermaid. I was even lucky enough to get a park at The Island! Directions to find the property and get the keys were easy to follow. The property is a decent size for a studio, and the photos of the property are accurate and do mostly reflect the actual studio. There is an electric shower - they can be awful, but this one was ok. The bed was pretty comfy, which is always a relief. The property is looking a little dated - the kitchen area and bathroom could do with an update - but everything was spotlessly clean.

The little outdoor area at the front wasn't really usable as a seating area - the bench seat was very dilapidated and next to the wheelie bin. The bathroom is tiny - I know you can see in the photos that it's small, but get ready to side step your way in & out of the toilet & shower! Also, the point of use hot water heaters in the kitchen & bathroom are useless, unless you are looking forward to a tiny amount of lukewarm water. We ended up boiling the kettle to do dishes etc. The cooker was fine, and there were enough bits & pieces in the cupboards that I was able to make breakfast without having to improvise too much. The fridge is tiny (again, as to be expected in a small studio) - be aware there is no freezer compartment. Typically for the type of building, there is little to no sound insulation between neigbours and the people upstairs were constantly audible - up & down the stairs, moving around and watching TV. I could clearly hear the volume on the TV even with earplugs in - luckily they didn't stay up too late most nights. Apart from that it is a reasonably quiet area - far enough away that you don't get noise from the pubs etc. Two of us stayed there for 10 days, and we were generally happy with the property for the price we paid. The negatives I point out are because they are not covered by the photos & description. There were no showstoppers for us, but things like not having proper hot water in the kitchen are a little let down every day. Apart from the upstairs neighbours, they could all be solved with a small amount of investment/effort by the owner.

Perfectly located.

The place isn’t as advertised. It’s very tired, the porche looks grotty, walls look tired and dirty on the outside. Windows were filthy and to our dismay the cutlery and crockery weren’t well cleaned. We found a dirty plate inside the microwave. It’s very damp in there so be mindful of that. Light fixture on the bathroom started to flicker and ultimately fail. Also, be warned there is almost no signal there and no WiFi. I had to pay for an hour to log on to do some remote work. That said, if you look to disconnect from the world, this tiny spot will do it for you.
