The whole experience especially the view from hot tub

Light coming through window in door

The views and location was great, easy to find and check in was a breeze. The Shepard's hut is lovely and cute and ideal for a little get away for life. Lots of seating areas and even a BBQ area too. We generally had a nice time but unfortunately there were several issues that made the stay disappointing.

Cleanliness was below expectations on arrival: there was a used contact lens left on a surface, wine stains near the fridge, and hair on the pillows. The fire hadn’t been cleaned and, more seriously, it didn’t seal properly, meaning we couldn’t use it at all as it felt unsafe. This really needs fixing as it’s potentially dangerous. The blanket smelt strongly of dog, there was only one toilet roll provided for a three-night/four-day stay, and the sink appears to be leaky. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub. We couldn’t get it warm on the first night, resulting in a lot of wasted wood. We later discovered that keeping the lid on made a huge difference this should really be explained to guests beforehand. We also paid an extra £20 for birthday decorations, which were very underwhelming and absolutely not worth the money. I tried to get a refund but the refused very disappointing indeed.
