Beautiful home in an idyllic setting reflecting the creative genius of the builder/owner. Wonderful hosts. Within driving distance of classic Umbrian communities and vineyards. Highly recommended.

We spent a week at this incredible villa. Franco and Aukse met us at the villa and showed us around the beautiful property. They were very warm and welcoming and made sure to check in with us periodically to ensure that everything was going OK.
The pictures do not do the villa justice - it's larger than it appears and had plenty of space for the eight of us. It could easily sleep 10 and even more if you were willing to make use of the pull-out beds.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were all spacious, well-appointed and spotless. The beds were very comfortable and large by European standards. The pool and spa were a hit with everyone in our party. The kitchen had everything we needed and there's also a charcoal grill outside. Having access to a washer and dryer was incredibly helpful as a few in our party had been on the road for a while and were easily able to do some laundry.
The villa is situated on a hillside and has a spectacular view towards Orvietto and the surrounding Umbrian countryside. It's somewhat isolated although Guardea is only a short drive (or a 20 minute hike up a very steep hill) and it has most everything you could need. Note that the road into the villa is steep and mostly unpaved - your rental car will get a workout and be in need of a wash when you leave!
Overall, Franco and Aukse's villa was incredible and we would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a luxurious getaway in the Umbrian countryside.
