Lake Effect

Discover the perfect blend of beach-town charm and modern comfort at Lake Effect, a beautifully updated cottage in the heart of Saugatuck. Nestled at the end of a quiet alleyway, this home offers peaceful privacy while keeping the best of downtown within easy reach. Across the street, a newly updated playground invites fun-filled mornings for little ones, and just around the corner, the town's eclectic shops, galleries, and cafés await. Whether it's sipping coffee at a local café, exploring artisan boutiques, or enjoying a craft cocktail, everything you need is within walking distance.

Step inside to an inviting, open layout with warm wood floors, bright coastal décor, and cozy gathering spaces. The front porch overlooking the park is perfect for morning coffee, watching the day unfold, or catching up with friends as the town buzzes gently in the background. The sun porch and spacious living areas provide quiet nooks to relax, curl up with a book, or share laughter over games and conversation. Bedrooms are positioned for privacy and comfort, making the cottage ideal for families or groups.

Step into the backyard and find a true retreat: a fenced garden with a fire pit, lush greenery, and plenty of space for pets and kids to roam. Evenings here are magical—grill fresh meals on the BBQ, toast marshmallows under the stars, or simply unwind in the backyard's peaceful charm. Inside, the kitchen is fully equipped, Wi-Fi is fast, and all the amenities are designed to make staying here effortless and enjoyable.

Lake Michigan is just minutes away. Ride the Chain Ferry across the river and walk to Oval Beach, or take a quick drive over the bridge to Douglas Beach. Feel the sugar-sand beaches beneath your feet as you stroll along the shoreline, swim in the refreshing waves, or watch the sunset over sparkling waters. Rent kayaks or paddleboards to explore the coastline, hike nearby trails or sand dunes, or simply sit and relax, listening to the gentle rush of the lake. In summer, the beach is perfect for picnics and sunbathing; in winter, the crisp air and serene vistas make for a tranquil escape.

Lake Effect captures the essence of Saugatuck: a vibrant, walkable downtown, a quiet, private retreat, and outdoor spaces that invite you to relax, play, and connect with nature. Whether wandering the riverfront, exploring art galleries, or savoring a meal from a local eatery, this cottage offers an unforgettable home base for every season.

Please Note:
- Tucked in the heart of downtown Saugatuck, you will love the hustle and bustle just outside the door. The adjacent bar, Wally's, does have live music most weekends until 11 p.m.
- Due to the landscaped surroundings and adjacent park, wildlife and insects are common to see. Routine pest control services are in place to ensure the comfort of our guests, but on occasion, a curious critter may make its way inside, especially if doors are left open. If you notice any evidence of pests indoors, please notify our office promptly so we can address the situation.
- This home is located down a one-way alley. Please do not park in or block the alley. There are 2 off-street parking spaces and plenty of street parking on the road.
