Our location is peaceful and quiet but with the amenities of Bath and beautiful South Cotswold countryside on your doorstep! Go shopping in Bath, go wild swimming in the Avon or Frome, walk the local hills.You can even walk directly from the cottage into Bath (7miles) following the canal and catch a train back to the Rafters (we provide walking suggestions/routes).Once home you have a modern kitchen ,bathrooms and a spacious double height living area(the old hayloft) . The cottage has Fast WiFi (37gb),Smart TV with Freeview and all the usual streaming services.
Catch the local train to Bath (9 min),Bristol 22 mins or Bradford on Avon 6mins! The village station is a few minutes from the cottage.
Stay local and dine at The Inn at Freshford, the Village Cafe or get some take out pizza you from the twice weekly village Pizzeria!

Beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable. The Rafters was the perfect countryside retreat for a friend and I to stay in while visiting the west country. Lovely old cottage that has been meticulously updated and is full of character. The village is picturesque, and we found the location ideal for a car-free holiday. The Rafters is just a 5 minute walk uphill from the Freshford train station. We also loved the village Cafe and shop, which has delicious cakes and is only a 10 minute walk away. Gorgeous country walks nearby also. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone!

Our hosts were lovely and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only challenge was the small parking spot. We had rented a larger car. Centrally situated in a beautiful village. The food and milk set out for us was an added gesture. Thank you

Lovely spacious property in a beautiful location with easy access to Bath and other local sights by road or rail. The cottage is a short walk to the train station with hourly trains to bath during off peak times. Not having to drive into Bath was a real bonus. The cottage was very clean, well equipped and a really lovely place to relax. Having two en suite bathrooms was a real bonus. The local shop and tea room is only a short walk, maybe 15 mins, though it is hilly so plan to use a car if this could be an issue. There is also no accessible access to the return side of the station platform but GWR are worth a call if step free access is needed. I would highly recommend The Rafters and would definitely stay there again.
