The whole experience and stay was amazing! Abraham, whose family has been rooted in the community for generations has such a depth of knowledge and insight into the landscape, geology and history of the area - something you won’t find at any lodge! The breakfast was lovely and sets you up nicely for the day. The rooms are a simple but lovely design as it’s built in the style of a boma and borders his own family boma overlooking Mount Lengai. We spent the evening siting at the campfire looking at the stars and talking about the land and Masaai culture. Abraham really went out of his way to ensure we had an unforgettable experience and we are definitely coming back to hike up Lengai Mountain!

Lake Natron is incredible and Lengsi Maasai Homestay  looks straight at the majestically dominating volcano. The view is stunning from the guest house which is  brand new, spacious and I was very impressed with the detail of everything in room presented to welcome his guests to his home. Which btw is an authentic Maasai home and located close to the local Maasai village. If you have an interest in climbing the volcano,  Abraham has climbed it more than 200 times. Impressive! He also knows the cool spots for sunsets and to see the flamingos.  From his house it is only a 30 minute walk to the lake to see the resident flamingos. The nearby waterfall is basically a crack in the Great Rift where water comes gushing down this narrow crack that you can walk within and then continues down this water cut canyon. A nice shorter hike to get a refreshing reward of cooling off under the falls. There are other activities in this area as well, including hikes to the top of the impressive Great Rift for its expansive views.  It was a great experience for me to be welcomed into this Massai home. The food, the hospitality, and the accommodation all exceeded my expectations of what I could have imagined for this spectacular scenic part of Tanzania 

The one thing travelers should know is that there are other associated costs for visiting this area as are common with African parks. Just ask the host Abraham and he will candidly let you know what those are.
