The Sovereign

The place is kept up immaculately. There are so scuffs on the walls as in all the hotels, all the lights work, all the windows open, carpet is clean, the tile clean, the bathtub is clean. Amazing thing beyond expectations - they have a set of high end knives and every knife is SHARP. The bed is comfortable, the closet is huge - it's basically another room with built in shelves. The bathtub has convenient shower heads. The decor is tasteful with black and yellow on white. The patio has enough space for 2 chairs and a table. 2 things that are not positive that I would like to mention. First, the smell in the apartment is very strong. It's a mix of cleaning stuff and the age of the apartment building. I kept all windows open the whole time I was there and by the 3rd evening, the smell cleared out. Second, the patio and the apartment are NOT ocean oriented and have no ocean view. The ocean view can be seen if you hang off of the patio and turn your head towards ocean. The patio itself is facing parallel to the ocean with the view of rooftops and the rest of the windows face in exactly the opposite direction from the ocean with the view of the next building's windows. Overall, it's an amazing apartment, comfortable, cozy and close to the ocean.

Perfect place to stay to explore Santa Monica! Close to the beach, pier, shops- everything you need. Clean, comfortable, good communication with the host. We'd stay again.

From the moment we arrived at The Sovereign, we fell in love with the charm, elegance, and incredible beauty of this property. The architecture is simply stunning, full of character and timeless details that make this place feel truly special. There is something so enchanting about a property that preserves its unique personality and history so beautifully. The location is fantastic, making it even easier to appreciate everything the surrounding area has to offer. Every corner of the property has its own charm, and we genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere and beauty of the surroundings. What made our stay even more memorable, however, was the kindness and hospitality of the staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and gracious. We especially want to recognize the management for their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. It’s wonderful to stay somewhere that not only looks beautiful but also makes its guests feel so appreciated. We left with such lovely memories and a genuine appreciation for this beautiful place and the people who make it so special. Thank you, The Sovereign, for such a delightful experience!
