I liked the location and the parts of the spa facilities that were operational and available during our stay. The reception staff were kind and helpful, with a special mention to the night receptionist, who was particularly attentive, welcoming and always ready to help.

The main issue was the language barrier. Considering this is a five-star hotel, we expected communication in English to be easier. Unfortunately, this led to a misunderstanding and a slightly uncomfortable discussion with one of the waiters. I would like to make it clear that this was nothing personal towards him — we understood that the language barrier was the real problem, and he was actually very kind, positive and pleasant when serving us. Another uncomfortable aspect was finding a list of possible charges for damaged items in the room, while several things already showed signs of wear or damage when we arrived. When you go on holiday, the last thing you want is to feel that you need to photograph everything in the room just to make sure you will not be charged for something that was already damaged. Finally, we were happy to find a coffee machine in the room, together with four coffee capsules, but were surprised to discover that the capsules were chargeable. In our experience at other hotels, especially at this level, a small welcome coffee is usually complimentary. It is a small detail, but one that would have made the experience feel more welcoming.
