Good location in the centre of the city.
The hotel needs to be renovated. There was an attempt to hide fungus in the bathroom, but it is still visible.
The small window AC unit is doing its best, but barely cooling anything.

Perfect Location, right In the centre of downtown Victoria
No wardrobe or wall hangers to hang clothes. Wasn’t too much of a problem for us as we were only staying one night.

The location was excellent and we like the older style rooms

I would have liked to stay in a particular room design. I found out that 24, 34, 44, and 54 have that design so I can request one of these rooms next time.
6.0
Easy to move around in downtown
No parking, no pool/jakuzi. No kitchen for breakfast

The location
Loud mechanical noise from two huge trucks from 3 AM till nearly 6 AM. Couldn’t sleep even with earplugs.
10.0
Perfect location, close to everything: shops, restaurants, cafés, galleries and bus stops that go everywhere
There are too many seagulls that are noisy all day long, but I suppose that can't be avoided.

Excellent location at the heart of downtown, within walking distance to a few main attractions & shopping. Many restaurants & bars within the immediate 2 blocks (Bastion Sq). Room is spacious & clean, bed is tidy. Toiletries provided. Staff was friendly & helpful. Large spacious lobby area on 2nd floor with sofas, table & chair. Steady & fast free wifi. Secure luggage storage after check out before leaving town. The location is unbeatable!
The hotel is undergoing upgrades (electrical). My room was "incomplete / unfinished" with lots of unpleasant issues. I only reported to a staff about the nail sticking out of the counter that caught my shirt twice. It was fixed almost right away. Despite all the other hiccups, I did not request a room change since I would be there to sleep only, also given it's peak season, I just let go but these issues should be shared & addressed. Attached a few photos showing these and I hope this is an isolated case. CAD550 for 2 nights might be the average of a 3-star in Victoria downtown during Summer but I did not expect these.
The room has 2 big windows with lots of natural light. However, lighting in the room is kind of dim & insufficient. The room is on 2nd floor on the back with something like a shared landing with another building on 1st floor. I could clearly see activities through their windows, that means vice versa & I must close all curtains for privacy. Since windows could be opened wide, my sense of security/safety is shaky & hence had no choice but to lock all windows & run the AC. Could have enjoyed the fresh evening cooler air if privacy is not a concern.
Like many other big cities / downtown areas, there are many homeless individuals in the area, a small group was seen staying right in front of the hotel main entrance. Though they seem pretty harmless to me, it's something travelers should be aware of. I must emphasize that this has nothing to do with the hotel itself, just the sad reality.

Amazing location right downtown. Great spots close by. Easy going staff who were helpful
parking was a bit of a mess. trusting the public lots was a hassle, and not having the parking lot on site was an unexpected hassle. Was happy to pay for parking, just wish the parking situation was clearer beforehand.

I loved the fact that the Bedford is an older building with a history. The location was excellent, easy to find and close to everything we wanted to see. The room was large and comfortable.
The sliding pocket door to the bathroom was difficult to use; it stuck in its tracks and was hard to close from inside the bathroom. The bathtub was so deep that it was difficult for someone with limited mobility to get in and out of.

Great and delicious. Good location
It was hard to adjust the shower water at a “just right” temperature. The water stayed scaldingly hot despite moving the different controls below the shower head.
The bathroom could use a fan to remove toilet use odors and/ or steam from the shower use.
The toiletries were a little skimpy.

the location is brilliant.
the lights did not work and the sockets were taped shut, which was a hindrance.

Great location, fire place
Washroom furniture very outdated

Room was old and funky which gave it some character.
Sliding pocket door on the bathroom had a window?!? Every time someone gets up in the middle of the night everyone in the room gets to know and be woken by a blinding light. You could hear all the traffic and business on the street which made it pretty LOUD.

The location and staff.
honestly, there was no downside. Perfect vacation stay in the heart of downtown.

not much other than location was ok for what I was in Victoria for
Bed was horrible, room was small and washroom was so tight for space for a 6ft 2” individual I had to sit sideways on the toilet due to space limitations. Staff didn’t seem to care about your concerns and they kept saying
sorry but did nothing. was not impressed with cleanliness of the room . the TV in room
was a 19” stuck in a pull out cabinet haven’t seen a TV that size in a room
since the 80’s . when checking out the two groups in front of us also had a list of complaints they got a sorry for. For $300 a night cost for this room it was a total rip off I am surprised that Booking.com has anything to do with this place. I have many more issues that I could say negatively about this accommodation but running out of space and time

Loved the location, the bed was crazy comfortable, and I was so grateful they accommodated my request that family was put in a room very close by. Like that they have partnered with Bard & Banker for breakfast (even though you only get one coupon per room).
Not enough plug ins and the coffee they provide is, for me, undrinkable.
