It was clean and close to the interstate and on a main road.
There is no key card access for the main/front door after hours.

The rooms didn't look bad the front desk staff were great & friendly
We had bedbug bites on our body the morning of our stay so that was horrible

the staff were friendly and helpful. good fitness centre. room was reasonably modern.
THE POOL IS UNDER RENOVATION!! Don’t book here if you want a pool. Very frustrating that this is not disclosed on booking.com because we chose a hotel specifically which had a pool. So misleading!! Also the aircon was LOUD. And the hotel in general is under construction, although there was no excess noise while we were there.

Its close proximity to GCU. This factor made it an ideal choice for an overnight stay for the graduation ceremony. Other options are closer to the school, but they generate less than favorable reviews. There are several dining/shopping options nearby. It is also close to I-10.
I am not the biggest fan of La Quinta. I feel it is in the mid-pack of three-star hotels. However, I chose this location based on favorable ratings and reviews. For an overnight, it was a fine choice. This hotel is doing the right things to improve its brand. But it still needs much work to compete with the top brands in the three-star category.
One, the walls are too thin. Our next-door guests' enthusiastic cheers and curses over an NBA game were overly audible. We didn't want to disturb their fun, but it was uncomfortable. We were hoping to block some of it out by watching TV. Unfortunately, both units in our room did not work.
Two, the front desk staff must become more customer-centric. One of our rooms was missing a light bulb. It would have kept one of my guests in the dark. It was about 8 pm when I checked my guest in, but the maintenance team had already left for the day. I asked for a light bulb, but the front desk associate said she did not know where they kept the bulbs. I appreciate the effort for guest safety, but I had to remind the staff member that my guest would stay in the dark before she agreed to change the room.
My son needed sheets and a pillow for the pull-out sofa bed. The front desk agent told us they would deliver a set within ten minutes. However, we waited nearly 20 minutes, but there was no delivery. We approached the front desk and were told she needed to finish a report. This answer is not what your guests want to hear. Keeping up with operational needs is important. Most guests understand that you have more to do than guest service. However, when guests do not feel like they are the central concern of your service operation, it will cause your guests to devalue your service.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating when we had to extend our stay an extra night, even letting us stay in the same room so we didn't have to move anything. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was good.
The area surrounding the hotel was a little sketchy, and the closet door in our room didn't close and had to be propped shut with luggage.

The staff was so friendly especially the front desk agent Kay. She took very good care of us and made sure we had a good stay.
The random homeless people who approached us when we would go to our car.

The hall ways smells of stale cigarettes.

Made a mistake with the location. The rest of my family was at The Uptown Rise. But your staff was amazing and after one night they gave us a refund. So we could be with family. Thanks again for that!!!
Maybe location.

The facilities were clean. The room was comfortable. Staff was friendly.
The location was away from everything we had to get on the freeway to get anywhere. The street seemed like a drag strip, loud cars racing all night.

I liked that they closed the parking lot gates.
The area is scary. We did not feel safe. when we got back from our game we couldn’t get in through the front lobby. if it weren’t for another hotel guest we would have had to sleep in out car. I would not recommend this location.

The breakfast each morning was fantastic!
Didn’t like that there was only a sheet and thin blanket. Would’ve liked the option of a comforter or thicker blanket as well.

Had to walk around building after hours

Room was dirty, furniture was old and scraped up, the tub wasn't very clean and was missing porcelain. It was in a low rent sketchy area.

The area was nice.
No blankets on the bed, only sheet and duvet cover. Television didn't work, had to troubleshoot ourselves. At first the door wouldn't unlock and had to go back to the front desk for assistance.

There have been a few reviews that just weren't right — someone claimed there were bedbugs (I didn't see any) and a few other people said the woman working the front desk that night was an issue (she wasn't).
My issue was with the manager during the day. My keycards kept not working, so I wanted to let her know the next morning as we were leaving. She immediately claimed that the issue was my watch, and that it wasn't going to work because the keycards don't work with the watch. I tried to explain that that wasn't the issue, to which she snottily asked if that was a watch on my wrist and if I was using the keycard in that hand. I had just got done staying at three other La Quintas across the country as I was moving from STL to LA, and I didn't have a single issue with keycards at any of them. I didn't appreciate the attitude or the immediate dismissal of what I was trying to explain.
