Historic building with loads of character in excellent neighbourhood, felt safe and free parking all around. Lots of thoughtful touches - like free snacks and coffee in reception lounge - and excellent, freshly-cooked breakfast in separate building just across the road.
Very little - the bedrooms are clean and tidy with good shower en suite. Being ultra critical, it felt a little bit like an upmarket student house: the property where breakfast is served felt a bit grander and more luxurious. But this is an extremely minor point. Walk into Portland is easy and interesting but takes a good 20 mins.

Lovely old house. Nice room and bathroom. Good breakfast.
Liked it all.

I liked that it was easy to check in, there were fresh coffee and snacks, the inn was clean, and the little common room felt very cozy and homey.
I loved my stay, but I do think the room I stayed in (6) was not what I was expecting. The bed could definitely be more comfortable, and the room had just one little window. I think my partner and I were the only guests that weekend, so it’s difficult to understand why we couldn’t have been given a different room.

Stayed two nights here with my partner and it was OK. We were at the 146 pine st location. The facilities were fine—perfectly clean and had the basics, though we thought the rooms looked nicer online than in person. The neighborhood was really nice though and the area felt safe—definitely one of the nicer areas in Portland. Parking was also very easy.
The 146 pine st location of West End Inn is unstaffed (or at least was from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning when we stayed there). We let ourselves in with a key code. Overall it felt pretty odd and eerie that we didn’t see a single person there all weekend (guests or staff).

"Sehr schönes Haus in einer ruhigen Gegend von Portland, geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Geräumiges und sauberes Zimmer, zwei Waschbecken im Badezimmer :) Frühstück gibt es auf Bestellung frisch zubereitet..."
