The location is very good and in close proximity to popular areas. The Inn itself is quaint, clean and comfortable. The restaurant/bar onsite is excellent and food was very good!

For the cost of the stay the room was underwhelming. While it was adequate, I was expecting it to be a bit larger based on the pictures from the website. It would have been nice if there would have been other spaces to "hang out", aside from the one living room, since the room was small. It was super cold, so it was a bit inconvenient that you had to get breakfast off site at a sister property.

The breakfast was offsite but the staff there was pleasant the food was good. The pictures show the room much better than it actually was too old smelled and had spiders and lady bugs could not wait to leave

If patriots was expecting antique and smelly this was the place for the price we paid. Not even a coffee maker in room

We have been staying at Barrows House for about 35 years. The Inn still has that Vermont charm, but the emphasis of the new owners seems to be directed more toward the event and wedding business than the individual traveler. The restaurant menu and the hours of operation were a bit disappointing. The prices throughout the region, not just at the Dorset properties, were unbelievably high and the restaurant choices were very limited due to severely curtailed operating days and hours. You could starve on a Tuesday or Wednesday night in the Manchester region.

Location is very nice. Included breakfasts were very good.

Everything was great. My only suggestion for the property would be to get some comfortable chairs -- adirondack chairs, etc. -- to disburse around the property (under some trees, in the gazebo) for sitting and reading.

excellent place to stay

The property is very flexible about guests' needs. The staff is very friendly and the accommodation exceeded my expectation. Very cozy place.

The breakfast is not served at the same location of the property, so you would need to either walk 2 blocks or drive. Nothing that you can't handle.

The rooms are beautiful with plenty of space to spread out. The location is excellent. It is walking distance to town and plenty of great hiking out the door. Breakfast is included and such a treat.

Our check in lady (i think Gabby was her name) was very nice as were the grounds staff.

For $300+ per room per night it was very poor! Room was not as advertised-no tub no balcony plus most of the other amenities that were listed were missing. It was above an old barn converted into a makeshift "king suite". Bugs everywhere, dog hair on couch from previous stay, cobwebs on walls and a grubby bathroom. They did offer us a different "king suite" after they were made aware. It was in the main builging, but it was smaller and smelt of damp mold. We stayed here for 3 nights. First night we chose to dine in the hotel, menu wasn't too bad but was selective. Waitress got our orders wrong. Service was slow and poor. The "bar tender" with whom we had interactions with later in the evening was very rude (making us go get our own used champagne bucket from our table and then expectinga tip for popping the cork). Needless to say we did not dine here again after that experience. Breakfast was a 5min walk away in a different inn, and by all accounts that is the inn we should have stayed at as the food/service was great. Had breakfast here every day and dinner on Saturday evening. The town of Dorset is beautiful with Manchester just a short drive away.
