Athineon Hotel

Les than five minute walk outside city walls. Great views over the harbour. Very helpful, friendly staff. Very clean. Great WiFi. English speaking international news stations on TV. Great pool area and good breakfast

Local buses would not stop anywhere near the hotel. Had to walk down to the big bus station, which is quite a walk

- The staff were exceptional, they were friendly and very helpful -Great location, being just outside the old town is fantastic for amenities and sightseeing whilst also being able to get taxis right up to the door -On site minimart is very handy for small purchases and prices are fine -Nice views from balcony -Good variety of food on breakfast buffet -Good value for money in my opinion -Comfortable beds with air conditioning in the room -The bathroom robe and slippers are a nice touch and very comfortable

The hotel is generally very good however we experienced a really regrettable incident with booking.com We paid for our hotel in full , including all taxes, before arrival per the agreement with booking.com. On arrival at the hotel we were advised that booking.com had not paid the hotel. We were then told that we had to pay a 140 euro tax, which we had already paid, directly to the hotel. It was an extremely uncomforable situation. We contacted booking.com immediately. They initially lied to us and told us that the 140 was a separate charge. However I reviewed my receipts and established that that was a lie and eventually booking.com accepted it. We have now been on a 2 week ping ping match with them, trying to secure a refund. They are impossible to deal with. They have now given me 140 credit which I can only use for something on booking.com , which is useless to me because I want to close my account because of this incident and their data breach earlier in the year, where my contact details were obtained by criminals who have attempted to defraud me more than once.

Booking.com My advice is that this hotel is really nice, but to not book it, or potentially any hotel in Greece with booking.com

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und hat eine schöne Poollandschaft. Das Apartment war geräumig und die Klimaanlage war angenehm.

Es sind zwei Einzelbetten zusammengeschoben, die sehr leicht auseinanderrutschen. Der Wasserdruck der Dusche war sehr gering.
