Poppy Villas

A great place for a relaxing stay in Crete. The location is excellent: the beach is nearby, the main road is easy to reach, yet the property itself is quiet and peaceful. I particularly enjoyed the saltwater pool and the beautifully maintained garden. The bedrooms are spacious and have lovely views of the sunrise, while the large kitchen and terrace are perfect for relaxing. I especially liked the living room, with its traditional Cretan-style interior, which gives the place a unique atmosphere. Maria is a very welcoming and hardworking host. The other guests were pleasant as well. And, of course, a special mention goes to the wonderfully well-mannered cats :)

Location was very near-less than five mins walk from brilliant beach-Ammoudara Beach and local tavernas and shops just a few kms drive or bus- from Agios Nicholaos. Villa well set out, nice balcony allowing watching the sun rise and gentle ocean breezes. Quiet and private. Great pool. Maria, owner very happy to help with any questions, suggestions, gave a bottle of wine at start and cretan olive oil on leaving. Had everything we needed. Would certainly return again.

The steps down to the beach (50 in total) looked a bit daunting but easily managed after first use. The handrail was a bit wobbly. Steps could be avoided by use of taxi-6 euro from Ammoudara or 11 euro from Agios Nicholaos when returning with groceries.

Die Aussicht ist nett. Der Pool war schön, leider aber viel zu kalt (das Meer war wärmer) Die Lage war in Ordnung Die Apartments sind angenehm kühl, auch bei ausgeschalteter Klimaanlage Kostenfreies Parken Wir konnten etwas früher einchecken

Die Ausstattung war mehr als spartanisch & ist absolut in die Jahre gekommen. Vielleicht ist das bei anderen Apartments besser; unseres war nicht besonders einladend. Personal ist einfach ins Apartment gekommen, ohne auf ein "Herein" o.ä. zu warten (wollte uns etwas im Apartment zeigen, aber ich finde man kann 10 Sekunden warten bis sich alle angezogen haben und nicht einfach reingehen, insbesondere wenn man weiß dass die Gäste da sind) Das Gefrierfach im Kühlschrank ließ sich nicht schließen. Alles in allem einfach eher ungemütlich.
