We were so pleased with our stay at Riva Palace. The room was so large with a king bed and in a fabulous location overlooking the main Split promenade. When the windows were shut we couldn't hear any of the city noise, too. Big thanks to Simona for meeting us outside to assist with our luggage and finding the property for the first time. To stay inside the old palace walls was such a treat, and the amenities in the room were fabulous.

Its modern and still in midle of the hart of the history.

Litle haed to get there with a big luggage, can not recomend for elderly people.

Built into the palace it had lots of character and was modern on the inside. comfortable bed and gorgeous bathroom with everything you will need. The host was very friendly and helpful. communication was excellent and we would definitely stay here again. 10 out of 10! location is right in the middle and you can walk to most things.

Excellent location right next to Diocletian's Palace but quiet due to triple glazed windows. Harbour view. Historic building tastefully restored. Also close to bars and restaurants (the hotel does not serve breakfast). Helpful staff (Simone)

Arrival is tricky because of location in a pedestrian area plus there is a lot of steps. Hotel staff member was on hand to help.

The location was perfect. We got up early, left the hotel, and toured Diocletian's Palace before the cruise ship tours began. Great opportunity to take photos. Simone communicated well and met us at the designated spot to take us to the hotel. We never would have found it on our own. She also offered lots of suggestions of things to do, places to eat, and she arrange for taxi to airport. I highly recommend this small hotel.

The property is in an excellent location, staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly Simona. The room was comfortable with tea and coffee facilities which were topped up every day. Would definitely recommend staying here. The driver that brought us from the airport, arranged by the property, was also very helpful, he showed us right to our room when we arrived late, and was there at 7am prompt to pick us up on departure, making the trip easy and stress free.

This is a charming small hotel set right in the walls of the Diocletian palace of Split. Location is great for those where stairs ARE NOT an issue (see below). Proprietor was very helpful before and during our stay. Room was lovely - beautiful decorations, great bathroom. Airport shuttle arranged seamlessly even though it was at 4:30 AM.

There is NO SIGN for this hotel and you have to navigate the maze of streets within the old town. Google maps is not helpful. Owner provided phone number and offered to meet us at one of the city gates to help guide us in. Also know that some of the gates are locked until morning ... we misunderstood owner as to how to get out at 4:30 AM ... fortunately there was another small hotel near by that was staffed at that time and that lovely man led us another way out to the main street. VERY IMPORTANT - it is not just that the hotel is on the first floor (already known in the property description) but that there are another 3 flights of stairs to have to navigate from street level to the hotel door. For 70- year olds coming off a cruise (so having luggage), this was not ideal. So stay here if you are younger / have carry on luggage. You will enjoy it.

The only negative was the stairs, ie getting to and from the property with suitcases. No lift in property. As it was actually in the Diocletian palace this was to be expected, but in a few years it would be too much for us

Our room was very clean and well maintained. The front desk attendant was friendly, helpful and accommodating.

My only complaint would be that the A/C kept shutting off at night. I’m not sure why but we had to keep getting out of bed to turn it back on.

Excellent location & surprisingly quiet. Modern amenities with the old town charm. The host was very helpful & informative upon check in.

Nothing during our stay was bad. The check out is a bit early at 10 AM, however this wasn't an issue for us as we were offered 11 AM without asking for our ferry time.
