Home away from home. We enjoyed our stay and was amazed how beautiful Connecticut seaside is. So close to everything.

Beautiful property with access to a great private beach with plenty for the kids to do and explore. Only downside was that the master had a queen bed, which I simply missed at booking. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

Great location and neighborhood with spectacular views! House was very clean. Living area was large and open. Twin beds were uncomfortable according to our kids. If you use a lot of towels, I recommend bringing more. Loved this place and would come again!!

Waited over a week to post this review to make sure I had time to reflect upon this experience properly (not reactively)... The neighborhood is lovely. The views are as described. The beaches are lovely & cozy. The house was... um... less than. I walked into the house expecting clean, contemporary, well appointed. I believe the description read ‘professionally decorated’? While there a few nice pieces in the space, the swayback sofa table under TV, the lack of rugs, the warped countertops and cabinets with food stained fronts, the walls with drippings, the plastic wrapped mattresses on the twin beds, the one small carpet in the bedroom that hasn’t been vacuumed in ?, the dirty floors (I swept upon entering, finding both human & pets toenail clippings), the food left in the crevices of the beautiful antique farm table (we ate at it once then couldn’t stomach it again) were a distraction from the ‘professional decorating’. Then there were the dining room chairs. While eating the one meal we ate there (before discovering the remnants of lord knows how many past meals), one of the dining chairs broke underneath my son, a fit 33 yr old, sending him backwards into the radiator (hip high vintage cast iron) and splitting his head. Not deep enough for stitches but worrisome enough to warrant a watch for concussion. Upon expecting the other chairs, we found 3 others on the verge of breaking. When I wrote to Nick about the incident, he did not seem too concerned about a guest getting hurt due to maintenance negligence. He briefly commented on my son being okay and his next sentence was ‘those chairs are antique and very expensive’.... I thanked him for his classist remark and explained I had removed the chairs from around the table that needed maintenance and upon inspection we found the cross brace pieces had pulled out from the legs - nothing a little furniture repair 101 wouldn’t fix. Long story short, here’s my suggestion: for the price, look elsewhere. I washed the dirty cabinet fronts, swept the floors, left the drips on the walls, enjoyed the views and the walks around the neighborhood and on the beaches. Perhaps others do not mind this level of slovenliness at this price? 🤷‍♀️

We had a wonderful stay. Waking up each morning to views of the ocean and the birds was so relaxing. The beach is a very short walk. Stores/grocery are 1 mile away (super convenient location). Nick, the owner, was also super responsive and patient. Very much appreciated. We'll be back soon.

We enjoyed our stay in Westbrook. Nick was very responsive when we arrived late to no heat. He came right over. The house is cute and comfortable to hang out in. The beds were not very comfortable and could use replacement. Overall a positive experience.

We loved the location and the views! The house is comfortable and has all the necessities. We would definitely come back here.

We were very happy with our stay. The house felt spacious and clean. We used two of the beaches that were only a short walk away. It was a great trip to spend time with family.

Great house would definitely rent it again. Not far from the beach. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Lots of spices on hand to cook with. Towels for the beach.

Unfortunately my check in date was the same date that the hurricane hit-Tues, 8/4. Because the property mgr-Nick could not tell me if the power was on or not, I decided to wait til Wednesday morning to check in. No power- There was nothing in the house that would help me with this so I had to go to the store and purchase flashlights- candles and battery chargers for my electronics. Still no show of the property mgr. We stayed the day at the beach- power still did not come on. We were going to try to stay overnight- myself, my daughter & granddaughter. We realized 1/2 of the windows were not operable, either painted in, no screens or they slid down again after opening. We realized we couldn't stay the night because it was too warm with no ventilation. We are a 45 min drive so we went home because we had power there then went back the next morning, hoping the power was on, It wasn't. I emailed the property mgr asking if there were screens for the windows. He said no but I could go purchase adjustable screens and he would reimburse me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the property mgrs job?? We already spent over an hour looking for ice! The only thing that was offered was lunch- they would pay for lunch! The windows in the bedrooms did not have workable locks. The master BR didn't even have hardware! ( I have pics if anyone wants to see them) This is a ground floor window. Anyone could slide the window up and come right in! Didn't feel safe there til I wedged something in. Bottom line, I lost 4 nights before the power came on. I had to rely on a kind woman in the neighborhood to text me , it came on Saturday at 7 PM. I didn't get an email from Nick til Sunday morning telling me that. I know that the hurricane is no ones fault but I expected the owners to have some consideration, some compassion. I asked if I could have 4 nights in off season and I would pay the cleaning. I even offered to purchase a 5th night (they have a 5 night minimum) but the only response I got was " it was a natural disaster and the owners not responsible." Not an I'm sorry- nothing! I never saw the property manager the whole time. Don't think there is one- I think the owners hide behind a name- Nick. The house is in a great spot and is pleasant inside though some things look unfinished. If you have a problem free week you are ok but if something goes like the A/C, Frig etc you are on your own. They grabbed my money and ran!

We loved the location of the property and its proximity to the beach. The pictures were very accurate and the decor of the house was lovely. A few things note: the parking situation is difficult, particularly for two cars (which can't be helped but should be noted for future guests); there is only one TV and it is located in the main living space (which probably isn't an issue for most but was an inconvenience for my family with teens); the beds were rather uncomfortable (but we heard no complaints from the kids about the sofa bed!); and the house was a bit less clean than I would have liked (lots of fingerprints on windows and doors, dog hair on the sofabed; etc). All in all, it fit our needs to visit family in the area and, truly, the view/location are amazing.

We had a great first time stay at this property! The location is fabulous and such a short walk to the beach! The views from the windows are gorgeous and we got up early enough to watch a couple of sunrises while there. The beds could use replacing and my husband is 6 feet tall so he didn't fit comfortably in the full-sized bed. More thorough cleaning recommended especially during this time. The counters had sticky residue and the kitchen sink was filled with dirty water/debris. Property manager was easily reachable and an absolute pleasure to work with. The neighborhood is very friendly and our hope is to return again next summer!

Location is fabulous and house is perfectly sized. That said, we had 3 1/2 days of internet issues that interfered with our work, and highly recommend that all the beds are replaced. Otherwise the owner and her property manager were extremely responsive and our stay was great! Looking to rebook next year (hopefully with new beds).

We really like this cottage and this lovely Chapman Beach community. Great beaches. Great streets to walk. Ice cream trucks visit most evenings. Close proximity to public golf courses, restaurants, etc. This last week, with the sunshine, breezes, and few crowds, helped us forget COVID for a few days. Many thanks.

Except for initial problems with internet connection (which the owner willingly and promptly rectified) the stay was a 10. Sorry I didn’t rent the house for the entire season!

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The property was quaint, beautiful and peaceful. The view of the ocean was exceptional and the 2 minute walk to the beach was definitely a plus. The owner and the property manager were responsive and available to our inquiries during our stay.

The house was beautiful, location ideal, area quiet, friendly and comfortable. Jesse responded to all inquiries within minutes of messaging. Super easy to book, check in, and check out. House was well situated and stocked to suit our needs. Top notch rental experience!! Although it is was fall and possibly out of season, we enjoyed time on the beach with our kids- fishing off the jetty, building sandcastles and unplugging from our “real” life. WiFi and tv available, but we didn’t use the tv at all and barely got online. 30 minute drive to Mystic, so easy access to Seaport and Aquarium. I would definitely recommend!!

Just returned from a fantastic getaway at this property! The home was gorgeous and everything was as described in the listing. In fact, we already booked another stay for next year before we even checked out. Having water views out your windows was amazing. Communications with Jesse throughout the process was very smooth and any questions I had leading up to / during my stay were answered quickly. As mentioned in previous reviews, parking is a bit tight but plenty of room for 2 vehicles. Home was well appointed and having linens / towels provided, along with a washing machine was a dream. Minor suggestions would be to upgrade the chefs knives for those that like to cook as they were a little dull - making certain meal prep challenging and perhaps having one extra dish towel on hand while the other one is being washed. Looking forward to 2020!
