The design was great, the ambience. Spa was great. Housekeeping was consistent.

Service is very low and slow. To this level of the hotel and the price- service doesn’t match at all. First, breakfast: service will depend on a day and person. Once I was told to order coffee at the bar counter and pick up myself as it was not served. And the lady to who I wanted to place an order, simply ignored me. Another day, I asked for cappuccino with cinnamon powder. It was not provided. When I asked again, I was told that they don’t have cinnamon powder for breakfast. Like WHAT??? Is it something extraordinary? The next day, I asked at the live station to make me a bahn mi and told that I will be back. When I was back, my order was forgotten and ignored. English also seems a big problem when staff don’t understand and they either pretend they do, or simply ignore and don’t even try to understand. And their favorite phrase: WE DON’T HAVE FOR BREAKFAST. But everyone is looking for money, for tips. Reservations and Front desk is another story. I have been sending messages and never got response until I highlighted it and was told that my messages were sent to junk box. Interesting, messages before were not sent and some messages were sent. Seriously, find another excuse. I booked a deluxe room and was inquiring before a room with Mountain View and was told that from deluxe category they will be visible. I particularly requested a room with mountains, quiet and I was provided a room next to elevator and view to another building. I requested front desk to move me, the first option they showed was even worse than the previous. Only next day they were able to move me to a room with a view and that matched the explanation of category in booking.com. Since it was my birthday, this is the only hotel that didn’t provide any birthday amenity apart of small bed decoration. Not even a piece of cake. WOW!! This can’t be considered a hotel of 5*. However the prices at the hotel are 5* prices which usually triple of all prices anywhere else in the city.

The room was good, I had to be moved and this was dealt with swiftly, late at night with no issues. The staff were great! The location and connection to the Fansipan train to get to the cable cart is superb! The hotel style is wonderful.

The initial check in was very slow and I was given a key to a room that was occupied. The staff were apologetic, but there was no offer of a complimentary service or anything to supplement this major delay and inconvenience.

The location was perfect near shopping and restaurants. Restaurant had plenty of options and was amazing. The king size bed was very comfortable. Air conditioner worked fantastic.

Our family of 4 checked in to 3 rooms for 2 nights. We had been traveling via motorcycles for previous 3 weeks and I longed for a decent shower. I booked the 5 star luxury Hotel de la Couple for amazing hotel, amenities, and reviews. My husband and I checked into room 645 and was sorely disappointed that the amazing shower did not drain and water seeped into bathroom limiting my shower time. Maintenance was called and he said he "fixed" it; however, i took another shower and water did not drain and seeped into bathroom floor. I had to go to my daughter's room in a robe to use her shower. I find it hard to believe this problem wasn't brought to hotel attention from prior guests. Do not book room 645!!
