Every thing was awesome

El personal fue maravilloso, nos trató muy bien. La comida estaba muy rica y el desayuno era variado. La habitación era muy grande y espaciosa. El hotel en general estaba estaba muy limpio.

Aunque el resto del hotel estuviese muy limpio, la piscina estaba sucia. El primer día estaban las paredes llenas de algas y tenía bichos nadando, así que les dijimos que estaba sucia. Encendieron la depuradora y el segundo día estaba peor, todo el agua verde y turbia (foto). Elegimos este alojamiento por la piscina y no la pudimos utilizar; pudiéndonos haber alojado en otros hoteles por la zona. Además el manager del hotel se comportó de forma poco profesional con nosotros. Le pedimos que nos gestionará un taxi y nos hizo regatear el precio de forma prepotente con comentarios como “vaya veo que habéis aprendido a regatear”. En el check out, a pesar de tener todo incluído, nos cobró un importe que nosotros no entendíamos y nos lo justificó como que era el agua mineral que habíamos consumido.

The behaviour of the staff is excellent. Pool is well maintained. Room cleanliness and promptness is good.

Food variety should be little better. Non veg dishes are usually minimal and in continental style. Some Indian dishes like laal maas or dal bati could be served.

Breakfast not as appealing as dinner. Natives staying in the hotel making far too much noise into the night making waking up at 5am for safari more challenging

Dev Vilas is a very nice safari lodge with welcoming, kind and helpful staff, situated perfectly for safari trips in the Ranthambore national park. We found it positive to find both Indian and more continental food in the breakfast buffet, as our stomachs were not prepared for all-day Indian cuisine. That being said, the Indian food is very tasty, as was the food served in this buffet! We enjoyed the view from the rooftop above the restaurant, and were particularly fond of the omelet master at breakfast. When my partner got sick during our stay, the hotel owner provided us with electrolytes, which was very kind. It was also nice being able to buy customized clothing from the store next to the eating area.

This is not related to the hotel directly, but rather to the staff's consideration for foreigners who don't know better. We (as ignorant tourists) would have appreciated getting a warning about possible effects of masala tea as it was served to us. My partner got sick during our stay at Dev Vilas. As I told the employees that he needed to cancel his afternoon safari because he was feeling very bad and throwing up, one of them commented (recited from memory, not a quote: ) "Well, he did have three masala teas this morning, before the morning safari". If we had gotten a 'heads up' as he was being served the tea, there is a fair chance that he would not have gotten sick.

The staff is very warm and helpful. The room size is good.

There is no room service. The restaurant is not 24 hours. There is no SPA
