Lovely cosy place that is a walking distance from JR Yamagata station and other major city attractions. Toilets and rooms were clean and well priced with all the basic facilities you need. Best part about it was the staff and the dinner. Every night, the staff would cook a free dinner that all the guest can join in, was a great chance to mingle in front of a wood stove. Premise has parking space and a lovely garden just behind it! Premise also has cats!

Check in in the morning was confusing because there was no staff in the morning but I was able to walk right in and keep warm/ leave my luggage behind. Can't decide if that was a good thing or not as unlocked & unmanned front doors might be a little a safety hazard...

I liked that there was a bath and toilet in the room. I also loved that the train was right next door!

there wasn’t much to do in murayama but it was super pretty a nighttime with the snow.
