Great location. Cozy, clean and convenient. Love the onsen, free ice cream, free laundry and free soba.

Arrived 2.5 hours before 3pm check-in and hotel staff were happy to store baggage and move up to room when it was ready, so we could explore the Castle. Bed wonderfully comfortable. Onsen had free washing machines with auto detergent (+100 yen per 20 minutes drying), nice sauna, cold plunge bath and large pool (although pool was cooler than most onsen). Breakfast was primarily Japanese (many excellent choices) and small bowls/knives/forks made it harder to eat western style, so we went with the flow. Staff were extremely helpful - 3-pin to 2-pin adaptor brought to room, no fuss when I lost my keycard...

The decoration is a bit old but the staff and the service made up for it. The staff spoke fluent English and are very helpful. The night soba (new year special) was very good. Complimentary desserts in room.

A great experience with onsen included. Clean, comfortable, and relatively, cheap.
I believe Dormy Inns are more in the upper 3-star tiers, compared to the big hotek chains in Japan. Major differences with some of a similar 3-star hotel chains would be: Dormy Inns provide onsen experience, although breakfast is not complementary. Of course, the breakfast which I paid for was far better than the complementary ones at the other '**-Inns'. I would rather pay for breakfast at a Dormy Inn and enjoy its onsen before bed and after waking up.
The price of my stay was relatively cheap, compared to other Dormy Inn branches in other cities. I would definitely choose to stay here again, however only if the prices are only one or two thousand yen more expensive than other 3-star chains. This would be because the room structure or cleanliness are more or less the same with cheaper 3-star chains.
The onsens are not huge, but its presence is nice enough, with complementary ice cream and soba at night, and a yakult drink in the morning.

This hotel is a good location, just a few blocks from the train station. I walked to the castle in about 15 minutes. The staff were super nice checking me in. The hotel itself is pretty basic. The bath area is actually a lot nicer than the rest of the hotel. There are laundry machines in the bath changing room area and if I remember correctly washing is free but you have to pay to dry. I did my laundry while using the bath area, pretty convenient. There's a family mart across the street. Perfect spot for a half day one night stopover in Matsumoto to see the castle and have a few good meals around town.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the train station and surrounded with restaurants and convenient shops. They provide ramen as night snack which is tasty. The room is spacious, tidy and cosy. However the shower in my room didn't work. I had to go to shower at the onset area. In general, I enjoyed the stay there.

This was a worn out and tired property. Too expensive for stuffy rooms, worn out matersses, carpeting’s in common areas and rooms and miserable pillows. The spa was nice enough. Nothing else was very good. Staff was good. Property needs a major refreshing. Even the foam in the dining room chairs is extremely worn out and you sink down into them. Nothing against the staff here, the property is just worn out.

This is a very good hotel especially the onsen bath. The only shortcoming is the room size. This is my second time to stay at this hotel. I recommend.

They really need to get real pillows. They have small extremely hard brick type pillows. Something you would have on a couch. They are not made to sleep on.

This place serves udon to its clients at 9:30pm as a get together and you can come in your hotel-provided pajamas (or not). Your choice.
The breakfast is excellent, the onsen, the first one on our itinerary was quite nice, and right outside you have Matsumoto - which is now one of our favorite cities in Japan along with Kanazawa.
You will see The Matsumoto Castle - but warning - you will need the onsen afternoons and late nights to recover from the castle's flights of stairs (bamboo ladders at a 55 degree angle) that no one warns you about. Until you are i a single file chain of surprised faces.
Everything is close to this hotel. The shopping and food around it are excellent and varied - we had delicious Pasta Carbonara just across the street.

Near JR station. Love the Onsen experience inside the hotel. A good place to spend your time relaxing after a long day outdoor. The kids & wife love the wide spread of buffer breakfast. Free laundry wash is a big plus but you need to pay to use the dryer though. Overall a wonderful stay & definitely value for money. Thank you!

The hotel was very clean, the staff was very courteous, and the room was pretty large by Japanese standards. What heavily disappointed me was their tattoo policy for the public bath. I've done a good deal of research and fully understand the history of tattoos, and the taboo within Japanese culture regarding them. But in a day in age when the country was hosting the Rugby World Cup while we were there, and next year Tokyo will be hosting the Summer Olympics to not allow anyone with tattoos that can't be covered by an 8x13 cm patch is quite archaic. We stayed at this hotel on our second to last night in Japan after having spent the previous 16 days traveling all over central Honshu and were really looking forward to relaxing our sore muscles in the baths, and were very sadly disappointed when we were told we couldn't use the facilities. In America this would be called discrimination.
