The staff was so fun and friendly, I flew in for a concert and they wanted to talk to me about it and asked me if I had fun. They all had the sweetest personalities I’ve ever met

Great staff. Friendly and attentive.

There were used rags, hair and bugs on the floor in the bathroom. We had to go to the children’s hospital that’s why we stayed there.. definitely finding somewhere else next time. Breakfast was like 6/10. The lady running the breakfast was SO nice.

The hotel staff where amazing. Very friendly. Loved the hospitality they showed my family. They made sure that my stay was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. The morning front end Supervisor she is very awesome.

The hotel was great. I stayed there all week, worked during the day and visited the city at night. The hotel is extremely pet friendly and appreciated being able to bring my dog with me. It's not well advertised but there is a partially gated dog run off the back of the parking lot.
The hotel was quite and clean. Recently renovated and it shows, because everything looks new.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprised. Every day there was scrambled eggs, and a side of meat, along with the regular hotel staples such as cereal, waffle maker, oatmeal, and assortment of fruit.

nice hotel and staff, good location

front office staff was very polite and helpful with any of our needs. The breakfast was so filling and had lots of choices for anyone's taste! very easy to navigate.

No trash can in kitchen, no light in shower area. Kim Clark, the sales manager never returned my call to discuss the billing error on 2 rooms for $175.59. We booked rooms for $144 each. Will not stay there again!
3.0
The room is very dated, and the layout is weird. There was dried hair stuck to the floor in the bathroom, and vanity area near the bathroom, my shower never actually got hot it was lukewarm at best. The bed was very hard despite being a Serta mattress
Parking was a joke, the hotel charges $23 dollars a night and has nowhere near enough spaces, we had to make a parking spot and pray we didnt get towed.
I was impressed with their free breakfast and the many options for beverages.
All in all, for the price we paid for the room I feel like we over paid, but apparently there were alot of events that weekend so i guess that was the reason for inflated prices??

Excellent location and very easy to get in and out in the middle of Birmingham. Will choose to stay there again! Very comfortable and very friendly.

Pretty hotel with very nice amenities. I highly recommend it!!

They’ve been doing some renovations and we’re at the very tail end while I was there… the renovation looks fabulous!

The staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient. The hotel was clean and comfortable. My only critism was regarding the gym. There were no towels, no cups for water, and nothing to sanitize the equipment with. Otherwise a perfect stay!

The staff was friendly and helped when we got to our room and the toilet would not flush. They upgraded us. I was disappointed that we showed up and was then informed of a $22 parking fee. This should be disclosed prior to our reservation.

The Hotel has a major renovation project going on and it was not listed on Hotels.com website. Residence Inn Manager informed me that all 3rd parties were informed of their renovation plans by Corporate. I am asking for a refund, something I’ve never done before, but because of the constant noise until the wee hours of the morning is unacceptable. Maneuvering around this mess was very unsafe and difficult…I await your response

New, clean rooms with all the necessary items except hand soap. Construction elevator seemed to be the only elevator working upon arrival but understandable due to ongoing renovations. Like the late check out time. Good stay.

Hotel under construction. Full of workers and dangerous to guests.
Should not be open to guests

I like the convenience and its closeness to UAB Hospital.

This is a great hotel, very clean, and the service was also very good. However, renovation was going on, so there was construction material everywhere. Very little parking at hotel, but they still charge a 23 dollar a day fee for parking.

The front desk was literally rude … said that there is an issue with my reservation and she refused to check my Expedia app … then made me call Expedia just so she takes the payment at the property .. I never had any issues with this sort of situation. Just her attitude made the stay very uncomfortable .

I travel a lot and this was the 3rd of 6 hotels on this trip alone and the only one I would not stay at again.
The staff were great and very helpful and friendly, I will say that, but this hotel is dirty, poorly maintained and not in good condition.
I'm not going to go into great detail but I have no idea how this hotel gets 8.5 points and is rated as "Excellent". With the exception of the staff, there's really nothing excellent about it.
My room actually felt "sticky". The "sofa" in the suite area felt as if it were latex coated and was in poor condition, as was the other furniture in the room, including the bed which was visibly sagging and "squeaked". The bathroom was not clean, with visible rust and soil in the shower and around the sink base.
My apologies to the staff for this review, they really were the bright spot.
I will be back to Birmingham, but not to this hotel.
A quick side note, if you do stay here, there are really no amenities, no restaurant, no lounge area, no bar, although about 3 blocks easy walking up the hill there is a neighborhood where you can find a few shops, bars, and places to eat.

It was convenient to places we wanted to visit as well as multiple dining places nearby.

Room was spacious and clean. Bed could’ve been a little more comfortable but okay.

Staff was very quick, responsive, and happy to help. They let us know about local events also. My room had a bad water leak and the staff quickly moved me to another room. The hotel in its self needs repairs. My new room ( 206 ) had a door falling off the hinges. The rooms could have been a little cleaner but over all a great experience!

I had booked the same google reviews and honestly got scared about the reservation. Most everything thing was fun and accommodating. I did see some dog head on the sofa. And it was also in need of replacement. Sitting on the sofa it sank in the middle and also had about 6 dog hairs. No bigi because I love dogs but I can see the problem with other patrons. The faculty was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again as long as it was not worse than this. Only complaints Fog hair on sofa pull out. And minor dust on walls

The staff was nice the room was great and the breakfast was good

GOOD - The property is close to the hospital. The staff was very friendly.
BAD - The property needs a major renovation. Furniture was old and worn. Towels were thin and cheap. Parking was horrible as well. Not what I expected from a Marriott property.

The room was nice, wish the bes could have been softer. I arrived a little early, the young lady working the 7am-3pm. Tried her hardest to find me a room for early check-in
Once I returned to service was lack luster from 3pm-11pm shift. The yound ladies offered the guys in front of my complimentary snacks as they ended the conversation. As I approached the front desk I didn't get the same offer. I will say the morning shift the next day were veey polite and friendly.

Great staff, rooms need a refresh.

I liked everything about this hotel if I had to stay in Birmingham again I definitely would choose this hotel again very clean and stafff is very professional thanks

The hotel description and pictures were a little misleading.
However, the staff was so nice!
I didnt really care for the room, it was uncomfortable. The furniture including the bed and sleeper sofa were super uncomfortable. Not really in the best location to walk in my opinion. But we really only slept there, so I guess it was okay for a short trip.
4.0
Easy access to property. Safe neighborhood.

The property was nice clean, the staff was wonderful friendly helpful. The thing I didn't like was having to pay for handicapped parking even with the placard. I live in Tennessee, and handicapped parking is free with your decal.
5.0
Great place to stay especially if you wanna go to the UAB.

very clean quiet and comfortable

The staff was friendly upon checking in. But there were several issues with our room itself. The baseboards were peeling away from the walls, the tub filled with about six inches of water during a shower because the drain was so clogged, there was a ton of water damage to the bathroom cabinet under the sink.
Also, our room was not serviced after the first night despite not being in the room all day. So I had to go downstairs that evening when we returned and request towels since no one replenished our towels that day.
The breakfast was great! I appreciated that it was such great quality and was complimentary. The parking was pretty crappy, everything was on a hill. Someone hit my bumper at some point and cracked one of my trim pieces, which I was not happy about. I recommend street parking over the parking lot for the hotel.
I’d stay here again out of desperation. But honestly, I’d recommend going elsewhere.
