The location is beautiful. But our experience was not.

The location.

It has taken me almost a month to write this review. I bid my time as I did not want to sound angry. Yes, I was angry and hurt. Still hurt... When I booked I made the owner aware, more than 2 months ahead of our arrival (03 May 2023) that: "We are booked for a week-long stay at your place in July. In addition to soaking in fresh air and wonderful sights, we will also be working, remotely." So, the owners were made aware that, at the least, we are going to need a table with chairs. None of the rooms have this basic standard facility. Instead, a big table sits outside, in the balcony. Perhaps ideal for summer, but most certainly not practical in the early and late afternoon hours of the wintry season. Letdown #1 On the eve of our arrival (06 July 2023) I received a message from the owner saying: "Please not that there has been predictions of low lying snow this weekend - this may mean that it's going to get very cold here. The cabin you have booked has no inter-leading doors as you can see in the images for the black cabin. So all rooms go out onto the verandah." The description on Booking.com indicated that this was a THREE-BEDROOMED HOUSE. This was the 1st time we learnt that we have reserved a cabin... but that is not the point. The point is what the owner highlights here: There are no inter-leading doors, meaning that each time one moves from one room to the next of this alleged house/cabin, one will have to step outside (in winter)! I have double-checked the listing, this fact of no inter-leading doors is not mentioned at all (I have a screen grab I am keeping as proof just in case an amendment is made). One has to walk out from the bedroom to go to the toilet which is in the lounge room in freezing cold! Can you imagine your wife walking outside at night in minus zero temperatures? So, I would not call this a house, a cabin even. These are stables.

Delightful, comfortable farm house that is so affordable!

The view was breathtaking! It is peaceful and beautiful. You can enjoy sun rises, sun sets and star gazing. There is lovely flat land for kids to play. The owner graciously offered a tour of the dairy farm which was so informative! This farm house is ideal for families. The beds were comfortable and there is underfloor heating for those cold nights. The kitchen has a long farm style table which is wonderful for family meals. Lounge has a lovely fireplace.

The house needs a good clean. Also needs another toilet to cater for a larger family.

One of the best places we've stayed at in the midlands. We will definely be back.

The location was just amazing. House was well equipped and HUGE. The garden was lovely, plenty of space for the kids to run around. We really enjoyed our stay. The dishwasher was a great help and we loved the farm table. Ashleigh, the host, was amazing, kept in constant contact with us via whatsapp without being invasive (we loved that).

Not much to complain about. However if i have to say something, the bathrooms could do with a slight update. They were clean and lovely, just a little dated.

Will be back - great getaway with lots to see and do in the area and on the farm itself.

The location was amazing, with excellent views of the surrounding rural farmland. The fact that the house was completely isolated was great. Very large and able to accommodate 6 adults and two children with ease.

The host communicated in advance the process to be followed to collect the keys. This worked well for us. Our special request was also accomodated.

Looking for Peace

Location is easily accessible using google maps and not too far from the toll. Ashleigh is the perfect host and was always available to tend to queries and requests . The home and outside is spacious and peaceful. It had everything that was needed including firewood ,bottled water and complimentary fresh millk. Netflix was available as well as a cupboard full of board games and puzzles. Plenty of towels and blankets available . Helper available to clean.

The roads did have potholes, The driveway to the house is gravel although manageable .

Hythelands-Hidden gem

The house: The rooms were of excellent sizes. Very clean, comfortable linen and beds. Kitchen was large and well equipped. Personal touches with fresh cows milk and flowers in rooms. Perfect for a family of 6 to 8 and kids. Setting: Stunning views. Serene and tranquil-away from crowds.In touch with cows and nature. The host/Service: I liased with Ashleigh. Awesome personality. Went above the norm. Catered for our needs with courtesy and enthusiasm.Loved the milking of cows. (courtesy of Ashleigh) You have left a lasting impression in every member of my family. Treasured memories! Gratitude and blessings to Ashleigh and the owners for sharing this gem. We wiill be back.

A little slice of heaven

The amenities and facilities were out of this world, the staff were phenomenal. This was such an amazing place in the middle of beautiful farmlands to just relax and unwind.

Perfect!

The Location is the epitomy of the midlands - you have perfect views of the Giant. It is located on a working dairy farm which is really unique. There is so much space to wonder around. The accommodation is incredible and you really dont need anything more - it is so nice and spacious.

Lovely country house

It is quiet and spacious, really great value for money. Neat and very comfy beds. Beautiful views!

Dishes were a little dusty, but think due to minimising contact during Covid period this might be the reason. Overall it was a great stay...
