Blissful and exclusive stay at Qambathi Mountain Lodge

Everything - it's the best service I've ever experienced. Mandoza was a great host, attended to our every need, very warm and engaging, met us outside the door each time we came back from our exploration trips, took interest in our daily plans and offered relevant local advice, managed our luggage, the best host I've ever come across. He's exceptional!

Lacks ambience

The Breakfast was good. Luckily Mandoza, the Manager was very hospitable.

Hidden Gem

This family-run boutique hotel is a hidden gem, tucked away in tranquil Kamberg valley, with free-grazing horses and zebras and a small water stream - makes for immediate relaxation! Breathtaking hiking trails can be found in proximity. Breakfast buffet and menu are delicious and the five-course dinner menu with wine pairing were without a doubt the best cuisine we’ve had in the Drakensberg region! Last but not least: Qambathi’s team is lovely and professional, yet just informal enough to make you feel right at home. We were impressed by front of the house, assistant manager and all rounder Mendoza, who was of great support - assisting us with hiking tipps and hosting a private wine tasting for us. Will certainly be back!

Amazing to relax after hiking in the drakensberg. It was above our expectations. Our best stay in South Africa by far!

The road to the property is not great, but thats SA for you and understandable if you want such an amazing scenery.

Lovely peaceful place for a getaway in the mountains with great hospitality, facilities and views.

Ticked all the boxes for a quiet, tranquil place to stay in the country side. friendly staff, good food, lovely hospitality, amazing views and facilities. we wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent hosts.

Great selection at breakfast. Excellent gourmet meal - but was it really worth R500 pp?

Very disappointed in the room. I paid a lower price but did not realise that the room would be so much less impressive than the best ones.

relaxation and comfort at its best!

1. The owners and staff are extremely pleasant and take keen interest in making your stay extra special. 2. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and a stunning bathroom. 3. The coffee machine in the room is a plus 4. Beautiful well manicured gardens and horses right outside your room 5. I loved the hanging egg chairs in the veranda which you can sit in for hours and just listen to sounds of nature 6. Excellent chef and a lovely 5 course dinner. Breakfast was also very scrumptious. 7. You will fall in love with resident dog Milo who really makes this place even more special. 8. A very warm homely place to just relax and break away from the busy city life

Nothing. However I suggest that having a spa be something that could be considered in the future. it would be ideal.

Had such an amazing and relaxed time. I'd booked again

Had variety of things to offer for breakfast which was great , the main meal as wll was great, The stuff members were super friendly and the place was amazing.

There's nothing that I didn't like , just a request to add more stuff for romantic setup e.g more rose petals

Magical getaway in the Drakensberg

Such an amazing getaway. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. They go the extra mile to make your stay a memorable one. Such a special part of the Drakensberg. Looking forward to staying again.

Felt a little catfished

The bathtub was nice. The chef's food was great!

It was freezing. The room we booked didn't have aircon- a basic need. We had to move to another room and pay more just for aircon. We were told it's a better room-which is subjective as i preferred the other room. The bed is two single beds put together🥴 not ideal for a couple as there's a space in between. The rooms were too close to the dining room as well-so it's not so private. The breafast spread was limited.

Great place to have peace and quiet vacation

it is a very beautiful place, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Our room was next to the kitchen and passageway, so the noise was a bit distracting at times. Also the road leading to the property is so bad with potholes for 30kms

Wonderful getaway

Absolutely loved everything about Qambathi. Thank you for complimentary room upgrade - what a treat! The setting, the decor, the staff, the food, the forest trail, the pool deck... I could go on!

Amazing and relaxing.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The place has absolutely stunning views. I got the chance to spot a zebra. I had to leave super early so unfortunately, so I didn't get a chance to have the breakfast. But they had wine in the bedroom which I was very very pleased about.
