Country charm with exceptional staff

Another fabulous visit to Rawdons! It’s a perfect location in the midlands with lots to do nearby, but it’s the staff that truly make it feel like a home away from home. We love the old country charm of the hotel and the peace & quiet of the property.

Really wonderful break away!

The hotel was really quaint, and the decor was amazing! The room was spacious and really well equipped. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, and it is really a very peaceful place to be.

Excellent and friendly service from all staff. Room was upgraded for free, and this was a surprise on arrival. Food was exceptional. Although hotel was full, it felt like we were the only ones there. Lovely fireplaces throughout hotel make for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

Perfect spot for a rest on the way to Durban!

Beautiful property, we were made to feel very welcome and had a lovely stay. The restaurant on the property was great, and we enjoyed the craft beers! Room was very comfortable.

Enchanting weekend

Great service and fabulous venue. Lovely food. Had a wonderful relaxing weekend. Staff are fantastic. Facilities are good.

The aircon was not working properly but there was a fan which made all rhe difference.

Loved the overall old school ambiance of the hotel. It was a cold wet evening so the open fires in the bar and dining areas were a treat.

A great one night stop over

Our initial room which we booked had no hot water in the shower, Stripes upgraded us to a suite which was amazing. The bar and restaurant were cozy with a fire going on a rainy cold day.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary there and Rawdons met all of our expectations

Staff was very attentive and helpful. Room was comfortable with a beautiful vista. Dinner each night was filling, could have included more vegetables.

Had an excellent overnight stay. Friendly and competent management and staff.

Cool, calm, collective staff. Witnessed first hand how the dealt with an entitled guest @ check in. Comfortable room with underfloor heating and fire places for the chilly stay. Excellent choise of breakfast menu.

The entitled guest @ check in was completely uncalled for. The staff treated this guest with more dignity that he deserved. I would not be surprised if this guest gives a negative review, something they do not deserve.

Amazing location but let down by grumpy staff and disappointing food, especially breakfast

I thought front of house service was very poor. No lifts and no offer of help to take suitcases to our room or bring them down at the end of our stay

Service from all the staff was excellent. There is a country charm about Rawdons , and having your dinner served in an old english pub atmosphere, cold outside and fires burning in the heath, worth the trip into the midlands . Great value, will do it again.

Cosy family stay in the Natal Midlands

The family suite we stayed in was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was quick and delicious with a beautiful view over the water.

Missing stock of some beers in pub and brewery which seems odd given that's it's on the site. WiFi a bit patchy. Headboard was loose.
