About this house rental
Located in Pacific Beach, this lovely house for $806 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. The Tourmaline House is the charming beach getaway you've been looking for. It's a real house, lovingly landscaped, with a grassy backyard to relax in after a day of San Diego exploration. We are located in Pacific Beach, just a 1000ft (300m) walk to the beach. Walk or take one of our bikes to explore the boardwalk, bay, shops and restaurants without the need of a car. With top-quality furnishings, an enclosed backyard retreat, and amenities like bikes, high speed internet for work and streaming, baby items and beach gear, all included – you will find privacy and retreat from the hustle and bustle when it's time to chill. We can accommodate up to 8 guests and 2 dogs in our home. The entire house is wheelchair accessible, and we've had several handicapped guests to date. We don't have AC. Photos in the listing were taken in 2022. Have an electric vehicle? We now offer our guests the convenience of charging at home. Just select the electricity fee when booking, and bring your own cable to use our 240volt plug in the garage. The Master Suite is a luxurious retreat with a King size bed, two closets, smart TV and an indulgent large bathroom finished in travertine and glass tile. A dual sink vanity separates the spacious walk-in shower on the right from the enclosed toilet on the left. There is enough space in front of the bed to add a pack’n’play and easily walk around. The Queen Bedroom is next to the Master Suite and sleeps 2 in a queen bed. The Kid’s Bedroom sleeps 4 guests in 2 twin over twin bunk beds. A large full bath on the hall has a real Jacuzzi. A separate area has a dual sink vanity. Enjoy full access to a stocked kitchen, enclosed grassy backyard with propane grill, parking for 2 cars. Beach gear is included: chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, cooler plus 2 bikes, beach wagon and scooter. We also have a portable crib and a baby chair. The house sits just 2 blocks off the beach (Tourmaline Surf Park), a 5 minute walk. This part of the beach is the north end of Pacific Beach, a local's paradise, as the tourist crowds concentrate further South. A 3 minute walk from the house you'll find Turquoise St, with a grocery store and numerous shops and restaurants. You will also be equally close to cute cafes and restaurants on Cass St. Easily reachable on bike are the beach boardwalk and Garnet Avenue, the center of the beach nightlife. We stayed for four nights. House is nice and clean. It seems to be close to everything. Our farthest drive was 20 minutes. Back yard was nice for the dogs. Would and probably will stay again.

All you need in a great location.
An actual stand-alone house with closed-off backyard - great for our pups. A little off location, so it's quiet, but not far off so that bars, restaurants, stores, beach are all in walkable distance (4-20 mins).
And the fastest, nicest responding owner we ever had.

The location was perfect! The house was comfy, clean, and a nice completely fenced in yard for our yorkie. The owner was so nice and accommodating. We walked to the beach, town, and restaurants. We uber'd from there easily as well.

We enjoyed our stay at the tourmaline house. The house was clean, comfortable and homey. The young kids (21/2 year old twins) loved the backyard and eating outside. There were wagons in the garage that they rode in to the beach which is a very walkable distance. This house was close to everything. The location is great.

Very new and nice interior. Very clean and comfortable. Garage will fit a Honda civic or similar. My F150 was too tall and big.
Area is wonderful. The mission Blvd has city bus and traffic but fairly quiet considering its location on street. The beautiful bushes in yard block out the neighbors apartment building. Nice place to have morning coffee. Definitely a nice place. Had to check in late due to cleaning crew delay but we went to a local park for a few hours.

I live a few blocks away and family came to visit, knowing the area I can say that this is a prime spot! Away from the noise but close enough to walk anywhere you need. The proximity to the beach was great and more of a local beach rather than next to the pier with tourists. The space was comfy and perfect and we loved the backyard. Great space to play and hangout. Would definitely stay here again and the host was very responsive to questions and had wagons, beach toys, etc.

Everything about this beach home contributes to having the best vacation! In a great neighborhood, the house is so clean and has plenty of space for your family! After a long day of fishing or sightseeing you’ll find the beds so comfortable and the tasteful coastal deco instantly relaxing. A spacious kitchen allows everyone to gather, cook and enjoy mealtimes. Not to mention the beautiful bathrooms that provide ample room to get ready each morning! Juliana, the host is so thoughtful and sends many ideas for you to visit before your trip, several in which we tried and enjoyed! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, we had the best time and feel so rejuvenated.

Not working: Ice maker, Bathroom tub diverter, no cold water in one bathroom faucet, garage remote. No Kleenex and only 3 days worth of dishwashing detergent. Dirty old fans for air circulation. Don't stay here if these items are not addressed.

Great time on Pacific Beach
The house was perfect for what we needed during our trip. It was great to come back to the house and open the windows to invite a cool breeze why we relaxed after a day at the beach or walking around.
The neighborhood was nice and had a number of food options within walking distance.

Great Family Vaca Home!
This home was terrific for a family with toddlers. Great outdoor space and enough room for all of us to enjoy our time together without feeling crowded. Juliana was more than accommodating and quick to respond when we had the need to communicate. Good experience all around!

Great Location
The property is only a 5 minute walk from the beach and close to restaurants yet far enough from the bars to be not too loud. The only issue we had was with some stubborns ants and a couple of roaches the last week we were there. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable. It has a nice, small outdoor area too.

Good location and fenced yard.
Overall the space was great and location good. It was a couple of blocks walk to the beach, down a fairly steep hill. Loved the French Gourmet restaurant a few blocks away. We had dogs with us, so the fenced yard made things easy for us.

Lovely place close to the beach
We’ve stayed here on multiple occasions and always enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for 2 couples and our dog. Love that it’s so close to the beach so we can walk the dog on the beach in the mornings or evenings. Juliana is always quick and helpful with responses.

Comfortable, convenient accomodations
House suited our family of 4 very well. Kids loved the boogie boards and sand toys that were available in the garage. Enjoyed our timing biking the beach path which was nearby. Also took advantage of takeout from many of the great restaurants within a few blocks of the house. Upscale grocery store a couple of blocks away was super convenient.

This house was very clean and beautiful. It is very close to the beach, just a walk away. But if you are bringing all the sand toys and chairs and anything heavy it’s easy to drive down to drop things off and then take the car back and walk. My niece and nephew loved the bunk beds and toys there! The whole house fan system was fabulous. The house is right on the main road so pulling in and out of the driveway was a little difficult but not necessary too much because of the fabulous location. Restaurants just right up the road also walking distance. The ice cream sandwich place was amazing! Host was very helpful and sent information about location in advance!

Perfect Staycation with pup and teens
This property was perfect for my kids and our dog. We stayed for 15 nights and we didn’t want to leave. The house is light and clean, the decor is tasteful, the backyard is great, the garage was convenient, and driveway was great for parking. The location is perfect, just north of all the bustle of PB but quick walk to the beach , the grocery store and multiple fun and delicious food options. This was the perfect VRBO. I will definitely rent again and I am local! We moved to another rental property within 2 miles and we wanted to return to this property. The host was very responsive and we had zero issues during our stay. Highly recommend.
