About this condo rental
Situated in Holualoa, this lovely condo for $602 per night is a great choice for your next trip. You have just found your own penthouse on the top ocean front corner with panoramic ocean views from every room. Be sure to see the Virtual Video Tour. The link is the arrow or partial image to the left of the main picture above. This is one of only of a few two bedroom units that has air conditioning throughout. Why suffer with just a wall unit in the living room (like other condos), when you can have air in both bedrooms as well as the living room? Sit back and enjoy the spectacular, crystal blue and balmy Pacific Ocean from your large private lanai with tide pools just 30 feet away. This 2 bedroom ocean front unit is on the north corner of the top floor of the D building. This unit has the advantage of being cooler than many other units and experiences cooling, balmy breezes. There are side windows in the dining room, kitchen and each of the bedrooms, providing natural lighting and a cross breeze. There is an air conditioner, although with the good breezes it is usually not needed. Comfortable sleeping for up to 6 persons, there is a king size bed in the master bedroom, and a king size bed in the second bedroom, and a queen sleeper/sofa bed in the living room. TV's are in the living room and each of the bedrooms. Also positioned right next to the shoreline, the Resort’s recently renovated salt water pool and Jacuzzi is just a few steps away from the unit itself; as well as the four immaculately-maintained gas barbecues in the dining cabana adjacent to the pool. That is a great place to BBQ dinner, and watch the beautiful Kona Sunsets. Complete convenience, Hawaiian style! The Kona Reef is on the edge of Kona town, so you do not have to drive every time you want to go into town. You can walk to town in just a few minutes, and visit numerous restaurants, shops and the farmers market. It is really one of the most convenient locations in Kailua-Kona. This private condominium has everything you need for an unforgettable Hawaiian experience. It is fully furnished including dishwasher, washer/dryer, small appliances, hair dryer, dishes, utensils and linens. It includes dish washing soap, dish washer soap and a starter box of detergent. It is your own personal, tropical beach hideaway! Our availability calendar is always up to date, and we have multiple units available at the Kona Reef. We have four 2 bedroom units, six 1 bedroom ocean front units, and twelve 1 bedroom ocean view units. This is our 3rd stay at the Kona Reef and the second time in this unit. It was great the first time we stayed and it was upgraded before this stay and it is even better.
The location is perfect. On the water so you can sit on the lanai and watch and listen to the waves crash and watch some great boogie boarders. Plus it is only a few minutes easy walk to the Kona waterfront and all of the stores and restaurants and the farmers market.
The lanai was part of the upgrade and the online pictures on VRBO don't show how beautiful it is now. There is a beautiful wood laminated table and matching bar with chairs which make it even lovelier.
Part of the upgrade was also new mini split air conditioning units for the living room/kitchen, and the bedrooms. It allows you to adjust each room to your comfort level.
The Kona Reef itself is a very friendly place. Both residents and visitors have been nice in our 3 visits, and since we come at about the same time every year, we have made friends.
The bottom line is we have already booked to return!

Everything about out stay was great. This unit is in a perfect location. It was well equipped with everything you need for your holiday. We give it 5 stars and would be happy to book again in the future.

Loved the beautiful sunset every evening from the balcony. Enjoyed the short walk into town for dinner and shopping. Had everything we needed in the condo. Awesome stay would recommend!!

A well-appointed condo with a great view but filthy. I spoke with the owner prior to signing up because of posted bad reviews on how dirty the condo was. He said he changed cleaning people, and everything was great now. Well, both bathrooms and the kitchen sink had mold. Pee down the front of the toilet. Shower doors are terribly stained. We spent $80 on cleaning products to clean the place when we arrived. FYI A 3rd floor condo and the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top so there are stairs. The complex itself is very nice with lots of parking.

The apartment was nice and clean and comfortable. But needed a few minor repairs. Fan in master bath doesn’t work. Split unit in master bedroom is noisy. The icemaker had a towel stuffed in the shoot coming out. And was frozen. But we had plenty of ice. In the master bath toilet fills real slow. but we did wash the sheets and towels before we left.

The condo needs updated. The carpet is old and faded. The showers were not cleaned well. Lots of soap scum left on glass doors. The AC unit in the master bedroom does not work properly. We never were able to make it comfortable in there.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The decor was beautiful and very roomy for 2 couples. Nice to have a table for game playing. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of stuff to use at the beach...cooler, umbrella, chairs, noodles, sand toys, etc. And plenty of sunscreen that people left behind. Location was great with short walk to town.

Home was well maintained and in perfect location to enjoy everything Kona and Big Island has to offer. We enjoyed sunset dinners in the balcony, relaxed in AC indoors in the afternoon, and walked to all the famous eateries and coffee shops in Kona. Everything else in Big Island was a day trip away. Overall we had a fun family vacation and I definitely recommend this place for a family of up to 6. Its in 3rd floor but there are elevators, but you still have to climb a few stairs and walk all the way to the other end of the building. That was not a problem for us. Plenty of parking in the building even for late night returns. Great place!

We stayed a week and couldn't have picked a better place to enjoy the Big Island. The unit is exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The patio view of the ocean is steps away and absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely opt to stay here again when we visit Kona.
We ran into one problem involving the air conditioners that went unreported by the previous renters. Upon our notification to the owner, he made every effort to get it resolved quickly and made arrangements to bring in emergency room air conditioners until the parts for the main air conditioner could arrive. This is the kind of owner you want to rent from!
Note: Although there is an elevator available, this unit is on the top floor and the elevator stops a few steps below the walkway level. Might present a problem for someone wheelchair bound. Other than that you can't go wrong with this rental!

I have stayed in this condo before and love it. This time the cleaners had not cleaned very well. The dust under the bed in the ensuite bedroom hung from the bed frame to the floor. I have asthma and couldn't sleep in the bedroom. The bathtub drain drained very slowly. We called the number given us and someone came out, but didn't fix the drain in the bathtub.
I love the condo and would stay there again. I recommend it to anyone else looking for a great place that is close to town and has and incredible view.

My wife, sister in-law, and I had a great time staying here. Perfect location on top floor corner unit. Amazing views from the lanai. We watched spinner dolphins go by every day, colorful fish in the waves, boogie boarders and surfers.
Very short walk into town for restaurants and shopping.
The unit is clean, quiet, and comfortable. It is well stocked with all your beach visiting needs. Although comfortable, it is in need of some attention and upgrading.
We would definitely stay here again.

The property is located within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The condo was well stocked with pool and beach accessories and being right on the beach makes for spectacular views. We had a minor maintenance issue that was handled within an hour. Our only big issue was the lack of cleanliness of the unit. Pop cans from prior guests left under the table in one bedroom, screens in the bath have not been cleaned in ages (covered with dust/lint). A good deep cleaning would make the unit spectacular.

Great location. Could walk to town. Very large lanai which is were we spent most of our time whole st the condo. Condo is right on the ocean so great views. Property manager was very responsive.

We spent our first 4 nights on the Big Island in Kona at this condo. The view was an amazing welcome. The condo was clean and comfortable. The pool is small but had minimal people when we went one night. The sandy beach next door was also nice although there was a shark sighting so we stayed out of the water.

Great location, beautiful views, lots of helpful things left for us to use, like a cooler, snorkel stuff, coffee, etc. Washer and dryer was helpful. Oh, the BBQs at the pool had gas flow issues. Couldn’t get any of them over 200 degrees. Luckily, there were some BBQs that had their own propane tanks near the street parking lot. Thanks again for a great trip!! I’ll miss my morning coffee on the balcony!!

We had one roll in each bathroom and ran out in the middle of a six night stay. Now I realize it’s not a hotel but c’mon add 1-2 dollars more to the nightly rate and provide maybe two rolls/bathroom! On a six night Hawaiian vacation nobody wants to think about buying toilet paper at Walmart. If our stay was for two weeks then it would be a different story completely but it wasn’t. Like I said it was only a minor complaint and overall we had a great time in this fantastic condo.

Great Location, Wonderful View
From a perfect view of the ocean right outside our lanai, to the short walk into town, we think this is the best unit in the complex. Very clean and well stocked for both inside and outside activities. Property manager had stellar response time when I had a question. Will absolutely stay here when we get come back.
