About this cottage rental

Located in Burt Lake, this charming cottage for $324 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Located on the west side of Burt Lake, one of the most beautiful and biggest lakes in the state, I'm sure our cottage will provide wonderful place for the that vacation you deserve. The cottage shares over 300 feet of waterfront, a fire pit, and swimming dock for you and your family to enjoy. Or just sit take in the view of the lake 100 feet off the edge of the deck. Children and adults love to swim in the hardpacked sandy shoreline extending out over 200 feet before gradually dropping off into crystal clear water. Wood is provided for the shared fire pit (wood is provided), dock, mooring anchor for your boat and plenty of space to relax and enjoy your stay. There is a large shared grassy area with a swing set and basketball hoop - a fun place to meet and mingle with new people. For the fisherman, the association also maintains a fish cleaning shed. Many of our clients have been renting from us for over 20 years and even come from as far away as Pennsylvania. Conveniently located between Indian River and Alanson on the waterfront of Burt Lake near the mouth of the Crooked River (well known as an excellent fishing hole). Enjoy the 45 miles of northern Michigan's Inland Waterway (connecting 5 lakes) extending from Pickerel Lake to Lake Huron. Just minutes from Mackinaw City, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL BE BRINGING YOUR OWN WATERCRAFT SO WE CAN PROVIDE YOU THE PROPER INFORMATION FOR YOUR STAY. Note: Guests need to bring paper products for kitchen and bath, bed linens (pillows, blankets, spreads are provided). A detailed list of additional items will be provided.

The quintessential up north lake cottage. The owners have done a wonderful job of keeping much of the vintage interior intact and that is what sold me on renting it. The woodwork, lots of lamplight, and views of Burt Lake made it feel warm and inviting. The kitchen is absolutely charming. It is an easy 30-minute drive to Mackinaw City, Petoskey, or Harbor Springs. A great spot for a quiet and relaxing Fall weekend.

It was very well equipped for cooking meals which we did most of the time!!! The view of the lake was amazing! And it was so quiet which is nice because we live on a very busy street intercity so it was delightful.

Great quiet location on Burt lake, mooring buoys and daytime dock provided, fire pit, swing chair on shoreline ..... shallow sandy bottom extended a few hundred yards from shore was great for hanging out on floaties. Large shady deck on back of cottage looking out on the lake (with barbecue, tables and chairs) was wonderful. The cottage had everything we needed. Furnishings were charming and comfortable. We will be back!

Everything about this property is top notch. From beautiful morning sunrises over the lake to the sunsets in the evening. Exceptionally clean and well stocked with everyday needs. We hated to leave. Nancy was an excellent host and communication was excellent.

The cottage was immaculately clean and perfect for our 5 person family. Nancy was super easy to work with and I would highly recommend staying at this location. The lake is sand bottom and great for kids to play/swim in. We will be back!

I found this little cottage adorable. It gave me a true Northern Michigan feeling with it's stone fireplace and log cabin like enterior. The views were ones that couldn't be beat (both inside and outside). The locations was great as we took a couple short day trips to Petosky and Mackinaw City. The only negative I have to say is the one mattress could be upgraded. and if your kids only takes baths there is none (the kitchen sink would work for a baby however). All and all I would definetly stay here again but would like to stay during July and for a longer period! Loved it!!!

This cabin was beautiful. Nancy was perfect with all her communications. They done several updates and the bathroom came out beautiful. Large deck with two tables, and a huge yard. Perfect for a family with small kids for swimming. Bring your water shoes it starts off rocky, but very sandy 2 ft in and shallow for a long way! Thank you, thank you, thank you Nancy!

This was a very cozy place to call home for the few days we had. Its an association and I can't imagine the things that might happen during peak season but glad we didn't have to find out. Pleasant folks all around. Owners very easy to deal with. Considering booking for same time next year.

Our family of 6 loved it! Owners were prompt and straightforward with all communications. Small space for us, but we knew that going in. And because it's so efficient in it's layout so it worked fine. Kitchen well stocked with essentials. Quaint and charming all around. Since weather was cold and rainy, we stayed warm, dry and cozy ... great place for curling up with a book. Such a quiet, peaceful setting (in mid-October any way) right on the water ... with ridiculously pretty sunrises over Burt Lake. Short drive to Indian River, Alanson ... and a reasonable and very scenic drive to Petoskey, Harbor Springs. Just a great location in an amazing setting. Only suggestion would be a new bed in the middle room, it's like sleeping in a dinner bowl. We also really could have used a washer and dryer ... but we knew they didn't have one. That might keep us from renting this specific place in future - but we'd certainly consider it again because setting is just so awesome. Thanks for everything. Great place!

I had stayed here as a youngster so I knew what to expect, a gorgeous log-beamed cottage, and a clean lake where you can swim or fish to your heart's content. We rented a boat and took a ride down the Crooked River, but most of the time we just enjoyed the natural beauty and peace of the cottage and the area. One night we even had fish tacos that my brother made with the fish he caught. I would definitely recommend this stay to any couples, families or respectful singles. We made many memories here growing up and it was a pleasure to revisit them at the cottage.
