About this cottage rental

Situated in Laguna Beach, this charming cottage for $264 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Only weekly rentals are available in June and July from Saturday to Saturday. Please note, we only rent to families and have a minimum age requirement of 25. We do not rent to student groups. Though we appreciate your interest, there are no exceptions to this policy. Our beach property consists of a main duplex cottage plus a guest house. This listing is for the rental of one side of the duplex only. The unit has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living area and kitchen. It will accommodate up to 6 guests. If you need additional space or will be vacationing with a larger group, check for the availability of the right side of the duplex and guest house listed separately under property ID # 1074283 and property ID # 454143. Relax and unwind just a few steps away from the most beautiful beaches in the world. Our cottage is located in Laguna Beach, on the quiet west end of Panama City Beach. It is situated directly across from the beach in an old residential area that gives you an idea of what the beach was like before the big high-rise condos. Amenities include a flat screen TV with satellite in the living area, Wi-Fi internet access, full kitchen with basic dishes and cooking utensils, shared wash room with a full-size washer and dryer, charcoal grill, and an outside shower to rinse off after that fun day at the beach. Our cottage is conveniently located about 4 miles west of Pier Park outdoor shopping mall. Thomas' Donuts and the local Carousel grocery store are an easy 2-minute drive. Wal-Mart, Winn-Dixie and Publix grocery stores are also close by. Restaurants to suit any taste are nearby. Panama City Beach has many fun attractions such as Shipwreck Island water park, Gulf World, Wonder Works, Ripley's, snorkeling, parasailing, go-carts, putt-putt golf and lots more for your family to enjoy. There are also two state parks within a few minutes’ drive. The Frank Brown Baseball/Softball Complex is only 4 miles away and Laguna Beach Christian Retreat is less than 1/2 mile from the property.

Mr. French is always wonderful to communicate with and ready to take care of any minor issues that might arise. (We’ve never had a major issue).This is the third time we have stayed at this location and have always been satisfied. Clean and usually quiet. Right across from beach access. We love it because it is a mostly residential area but still a short drive to Thomas Donuts and Pier Park for shopping and restaurants.

There was multiple issues from the start. To begin with we were initially required to submit our personal information separately from VRBO to the owner via his own house rules and rental agreement. While we didn’t give out personal information we did have to agree to his agreement before he would even give us the information to enter the home. Once entering the unit, we found that the pictures and unit is in need of some renovations. From horribly stained couches and sheets to chunks of paint missing from the wall, it was not up to expectations based on the ad. The location is accurate as it is in fact across from the beach, however the neighborhood behind the unit is quite run down. There are quite a few other rental properties in the area and we should have done more research, but don’t make the same mistake we did. The odd thing is that the owner when checking out is sure to charge a refundable $200 damage deposit that you won’t get back until 2 weeks after your stay (we did) along with mandatory rental insurance. It seems as though the property isn’t being cared for properly even though the owner makes it as difficult as possible to stay there.

You truly can’t beat the location for the price. Just a stroll across the street and you are walking on the beach! Things to note: no dishwasher. Wouldn’t have been a big deal but we were counting on it for baby bottles. Bring your own pillows. We used a sheet to cover the couch. Other than that it worked great for our stay. 100% would stay here again.

This adorable and simple, no frills. Yet perfect bungalow is just literally 75 steps from door to the beach. It was exactly what we needed to sleep and relax. There was a stove for light cooking and a fridge for our groceries. We absolutely loved how laid back it was and although close to activities was still far enough off the beaten path to enjoy the quiet and not have to deal with crowds, loud music, or traffic unless we were willlingly going somewhere closer to the hub of town. This was the best of both worlds for sure. We are already planning our trip back and can’t wait to stay here again.

The owner was easy to communicate with! The space was small but cozy and had all the necessities! The location was ideal—walk across the street to the beach, complete with spot to hose off the sand before you head in the door. It was not super kid-friendly for my youngest ones with no bath tub and seating for meals at a high counter on stools but my kids enjoyed showering and sitting up high for a few days!

Perfect location! Communication timely. Not roomy but we didn't come to stay in the house. We came for the beach which was right across the street. Also Thomas Doughnuts is just down the street.. A bit dated is my only non-positive response.

This property was clean and well stocked. The location was the best part. We were just a few steps to the beach. The beach was not crowded. Mr. French answered questions very promptly and was a great host. We will definitely be back!

Great location. It was a tad small for our family of 6. Owner was very easy to deal with and even told us to let him know if we got there early and he would see if house was ready early. Downside was there wasn’t enough silverware for our whole family to all use at once and several lightbulbs in house were blown. Also a few of the outlets didn’t work.

Really peaceful, clean duplex with everything that you need for a beach getaway... I loved the fact that within a minute you were on a beautiful, quiet, mostly empty beach... I had a minor issue parking the bike because of the rock parking spot, but it worked itself out... Plan on going back for sure...
