Spacious & Charming - Great Reviews - HOT TUB - Easy Walk to Beach, Bay & Town\n
About this house rental
Located in Dewey Beach, this lovely house for $696 per night is a great option for your next vacation. WHAT MAKES THIS PLACE SO SPECIAL . . . Located on a quiet street on the north side of Dewey Beach, this classic 1950's beach cottage was renovated in 2005, adding ample space and all the modern amenities while maintaining its original charm. The indoor spaces are comfortable, inviting, and spacious with a large living room/dining room area, 4 bedrooms, and 3 full baths. French doors and casement windows allow beautiful breezes on days when you want to skip the AC. But the best spot in the house is on the huge screen porch -- perfect for morning coffee, happy hours, a good book, or hanging out with friends -- or perhaps in the adjacent HOT TUB that comfortably soaks up to 8 adults (operates year-round; no extra fees). Just 2+ blocks to the beach and the bay, and 4 blocks to Dewey nightlife, it is close to everything you want to see and do, but far enough away for the peace and quiet you need. This home has many return guests who recognize it's special charm and feel like it's their own private oasis for a week or two every summer, or an off-season get-away. Be sure to check out our visitors' comments in the Reviews section. THE LIVING SPACES . . . On the first floor, enjoy an airy living room with sectional sofa and chairs (all new in 2022) facing the Smart TV with Netflix capability. In the cool seasons, the gas corner fireplace provides warmth and coziness. The dining room offers seating for 8 at a large table. These rooms open to the truly huge screen porch, perfect for relaxing or entertaining, with ample seating (new in 2022) and an oversized picnic table. Right outside the screen porch is a large HOT TUB which comfortably seats up to 8 adults, surrounded by a deck with adorondak chairs and a charcoal grill. In the kitchen, granite countertops and white-washed cabinets provide plenty of storage and make this a lovely place to prepare meals. Appliances include: - a 25 cubic-foot, side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker and in-door water/ice dispenser (new in 2023), - a full-size oven, stovetop, and microwave, - dishwasher, - stainless steel sink with garbage disposal, - coffee maker, toaster, blender, griddle, - plentiful cookware, dishes, glasses and silverware BEDROOM & BATHROOMS First Floor -- The first floor offers a bedroom and full bathroom -- very convenient for anyone who can't manage the stairs every day. Here a queen-size bed overlooks the front porch with access through a sliding door, making it a great spot for morning coffee or people watching. There is a small TV in this room. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination and is immediately adjacent to the bedroom while still accessible from the living spaces. Master Bedroom -- On the second floor, the oversized Master Suite has a king size bed, large TV, cathedral ceilings, and ceiling fan. The private master bath provides a stall shower and large Corian double sinks. Sea Glass Room -- On the second floor, this bedrooms offers a queen bed, TV, and shares a hall bathroom with a tub/shower combination and large Corian double sinks. The Sunshine Room has two double beds , TV, and shares a hall bathroom with a tub/shower combination and large Corian double sinks. A fully-enclosed, private outdoor shower is adjacent to the screen porch and hot tub, prefect for a nice hot shower after the beach. The laundry room is located upstairs with extra large capacity washer and dryer. QUIET AND CONVENIENCE This lovely house is ideally located slightly off the beaten track but close to everything, offering both quiet and convenience. The neighborhood is typically quiet and hospitable with many families and year-round residents and a lot less of the 'craziness' of downtown Dewey. Yet, it is within blocks of all the wonderful Dewey Beach attractions and restaurants. You can also enjoy a nice fifteen minute walk to downtown Rehoboth, or catch the Jolly Trolley to the boardwalk. The guarded beach and the bay are both an easy walk, even with young children. Many guest tell us they park their cars when they arrive (there's room for 5!) and walk everywhere. This house has it all -- comfort, convenience, quiet. The owners are meticulous about details and quality to ensure that your stay will be one you will enjoy and always remember. Come discover for yourself just how charming this house is. You'll want to come back every year.

Very nice house just far enough away from the bustle of Dewey to be quiet but close enough to Dewey for a great night out and a short walk home. Hot tub is very roomy and the backyard monster screened in porch is amazing on a nice night. If we ever find ourselves ba k in Dewey for another lacrosse tournament at DE Sports Comllex, we will definitely rent this place again. Just note that linens and towels are not included in this rental but everything else is fully stocked.

Pictures don't do this house justice! You can tell this is a well-loved, family home. When not at the beach, we spent most of our time out on the screened-in porch, which was so lovely & stayed pretty cool with the fans provided. The big table on the porch was great for the kids - and they loved the hot tub! It was just a short walk to the beach, about 7 minutes. We also loved that we could ride bikes down Bayard with the kids (avoiding Route 1) and hit up the restaurants. We usually stay in Rehoboth but found this special place and couldn't have been happier with the location. The neighborhood is quiet, but you are close to everything. The large driveway is a huge bonus, as we had 3 cars & lots of bikes. The outdoor shower was the best! I could go on and on :)
Susan was wonderful & communicative. We hope to be back! :)

This is a GREAT house! Super layout with a fabulous - large - screened porch where we spent nearly all of our non-beach time. We had 3 generations of adults, several working from the house during the daytime (the wifi was great too). It was a very comfortable space for all of us, with all of our activities. It's convenient to a great beach and we both walked and drove (easy parking @ the beach).
The house was extremely clean, well appointed, and when we had any questions or needs the owner was super responsive.
We will be back. We absolutely loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and perfect size for our extended family to get together. Exactly as described. We loved that we were close to the action of Dewey and Rehoboth beaches, but were nestled in a quiet neighborhood.

We had a great time! Perfect size for multiple families, kids and adults. Easy access to Dewey and Rehoboth, by bike or car. We spent most of our time on the amazing screened in porch on the comfy chairs and couches, or at the large picnic table. The check in and check out process was super simple and easy to do. Highly recommend this property!

This house is a very charming old school beach cottage. The location is amazing! Very walkable to all the action but just far enough for some peace and quiet. The house is definitely no frills and you need to bring EVERYTHING with you. There wasn’t even toilet paper so be prepared to pack all essentials. The hot tub was filled with sand so we did not use that either. Overall it was acceptable but could definitely use a bit more attention.

This property is perfect. It is exactly how it’s listed, more spacious than it looks! Super clean. The back patio was the best for hanging out, eating dinner etc. I would totally book this house again and again. Thanks for being great hosts.

We loved everything about this house - the fireplace, the location (close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants, but on a quiet neighborhood street), the fact that the bedrooms have space between them and most have their own bathroom, and the decor. But most of all we loved the huge screened-in porch and the hot tub. We had a wonderful weekend and would stay here again. Communication with the hosts and check in/out was quick and easy too. 5 stars all around!

We love this place. We are old friends from Class of '57, and mostly want to sit around and catch up. There's plenty of room to do that comfortably in every downstairs room. The kitchen was easy to work in and lacking nothing. Hope maybe we'll be back again next year. Jackie Coy

We were blessed with a beautiful week in dewey. But this property was well equipped to accommodate our family regardless of the weather. The hostess has a wonderful collection of books, puzzles, games, and children's toys. The screened in porch was a relaxing addition to the spacious home and the hot tub was well maintained.

Anne Acres is a wonderful property to rent for a week at the beach. The rooms and amenities were just a s described. The location was ideal for our family of 8. The location was perfect - a short walk to the beach, to downtown Dewey, and Fifers Food Kitchen (our favorite place to pick up fresh produce) was just around the corner. We particularly enjoyed the large screened-in porch. Susan, the property owner was easy to communicate with and responded to all my inquiries promptly. It was a wonderful experience all around and we would cetainly look forward to staying at Anne Acres again.

Great location and we loved the screened in porch and hot tub.

This house is beautiful. Its centrally located to beaches, attractions and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hot tub is a plus! I do feel I need to mention that the neighbors at the house next door ( not sure if they were renters) enjoyed a lot of company in the evening and were very loud outside on their screened in porch until well after midnight.
However, this wouldn't stop us of renting this house again in the future. Great vacation!

From booking to check-out, Susan was a hospitable communicator. The house was great—comfortable beds in quiet rooms, three bathrooms near bedrooms, plenty of seating in the living room and porch. The kitchen is well-appointed for cooking and eating (dishes, pots and pans, utensils, and serving/storing bowls). We spent most of our time at the house on the porch, enjoying beautiful weather the whole week. Check-out was easy.

Three couples enjoyed the quiet and beautiful accommodations. The hot tub was a special delight. The home was well supplied with everything we needed. The wifi was strong enough for us to Zoom to Africa six hours each day.

We very much enjoyed staying in this superb rental for a week on the beach with our two daughters and their families. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the house was well equipped with kitchenware, games, and all we could want. We hope to be able to do it again next year.

My family and I rented this house from September 12-19, 2021. Upon arrival, three cars were parked in our 5 car parking lot. Ordinarily, this would be fine but they were spread out so we had to park against a tree only being able to access two doors of our vehicle. I contacted the owner who did not respond promptly. After a half hour, I contacted her again threatening to have them towed. The owners of the cars showed up, finally, and proceeded to have a conversation before they decided to leave. All the while, my husband and I were trying to unpack our car. Strike one.
The house was an old (maybe 1930-40) cabin that has been modified. Two of the bedrooms had severely slanted ceilings that would test even the slightly claustrophobic. Closets were either nonexistent or not fit to put clothing in. I wish I could post pictures. It looks like they remodeled and put in a master bedroom and two bathrooms which were very nice. The porch on the back would have been nice if the cushions on they chairs hadn’t peaked last year. We were basically sitting on the plastic rattan. We had to double up the cushions to sit comfortably. Strike two.
The kitchen was nice. It had everything we needed to cook however, the stove only had two burners that worked well. One of them would heat up to a certain point and then drop back down to medium or low and one of them didn’t work at all. The dishwasher was old but worked well.
The living room sofa and chairs have seen their better days and should be replaced. The room did not have curtains on the windows, not even sheers.
Everything in the place seemed old, dark and dated. Most of the walls were the cabin wood that smelled like an old sour attic. Candles helped.
Strike three.
The house was clean and the hot tub was nice.
The pictures on vrbo are deceiving. If you are looking for a light, airy beach house, look elsewhere. First time in 25 years of renting that we couldn’t wait to leave.
