About this condo rental
Nestled in Alta, this charming condo for $449 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This luxurious studio condominium comfortably sleeps 2 and is located in the highly desirable Blackjack Lodge in Alta. An elevator provides easy access to the condo on the 3rd floor. Blackjack Lodge is ideally located between the Alta and Snowbird ski resorts. You can ski-in and ski-out to Snowbird, depending on snow conditions, and ski home from Alta if you are comfortable skiing off piste and know the way home. A free ski shuttle runs between the lodge and both Alta ski area bases daily from mid-December thru mid-April to get you to and from the slopes. Dining options abound and are only minutes away at either Alta or Snowbird. If you don't feel like driving, or shuttled up from the airport, there is a free shuttle in the evening from 5-10pm with drop offs and pickups in the Town of Alta & Snowbird. It’s literally just a few minutes drive to either resort. More information is available in the binder in the condo. Whether you rent a car or drive to Alta in your own vehicle, 4 wheel drive is highly recommended and sometimes required as Little Cottonwood Canyon is a 2 lane mountain road often restricted to 4 x 4 vehicles with snow tires and/or chains during a storm cycle, which is why Alta is 'Rated #1 for Snow' year after year. In addition to your fabulous on mountain experience, are the spectacular Mt. Superior, Hellgate Cliffs and down canyon views from this condo. After a full day on the mountain, returning to this condo, relaxing in front of the fireplace and watching the sunset over the Wasatch mountains will complete your day. Little Cottonwood canyon is truly an amazing place and Mt. Superior, one of the most photographed mountains in the world, is literally right outside your window. The condo has been totally remodeled and includes a fully equipped kitchen with custom knotty alder cabinetry, granite countertops, Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, Wolf electric cook top and full size convection oven. There is radiant heated travertine tile flooring in the entry, kitchen and bathroom. Premium wool carpet covers the living area floor. Nothing feels better than returning after a full day on the mountain, removing your boots and stepping into the condo on the heated floor to warm your feet. There is a wood burning fireplace, with free firewood provided, a queen size Murphy bed, full size sofa sleeper, Smart TV with fiber optic high speed internet for streaming . Additionally, there is a free washer & dryer on each floor. . A private ski locker with a Master combination lock is also provided in the locker room on the main floor for your ski gear. FYI- Dogs are NOT allowed in Blackjack Condo's due to allergies. This is truly a one of a kind property in Alta which offers easy access to the 2 World Class Resorts in Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. It truly is Powder Paradise.

This is a great spot for anyone trying to ski Snowbird and Alta. It was so nice to avoid canyon traffic in the morning and afternoon. On the weekend we saved ourselves hours of sitting in traffic. The condo has everything two people need to be very comfortable. It is immaculate with high end finishings. Steve (owner) provided great communication about the condo and how to make the most of our trip.
A tip for anyone considering staying here - if you are able to ski the Peruvian lift at Snowbird, you'll have no trouble skiing in and out at Snowbird. If that is a little too much for your ability, parking along the road near the Cliff Lodge is very easy.

Great condo between Alta and Snowbird. Shuttle is easy to use, and views of Mt. Superior were awesome. Kitchen had top notch appliances.
Sauna setup was a little weird - women's sauna was locked, men's sauna had a sign in sheet and something about Covid (cmon, it's 2024 now...) - but we were able to just sign in each time we wanted to use it, so it worked out. The sign in sheet says you're signing it out for 24 hours, but we just noted our leave time when we were done in case others wanted to make use.
Anyway, great place - you won't regret booking it.

We loved everything about the condo and our stay. It is beautifully decorated, well appointed, and comfortable, with a wood burning fireplace and view down the valley. It’s central to both Snowbird and Alta with a call on-demand shuttle to either. Check in was simple and easy, and communications were clear and responsive. We would love to stay here again.

Condo is in a perfect location to ski both Alta and Snowbird. Very clean and everything you need. No need to rent a car as the recommended Alta Shuttle from the airport to Blackjack Condo as well as to the ski areas are easy and convenient. Also easy to ski right from the condo weather permitting. The locals in the Black Jack condo and the resort area couldn't be nicer! If you are looking to ski, come back and relax and get a good night of sleep, this place is perfect for you.

This condo is beautiful and well-appointed. The owner is terrific! Gave us all the relevant info, and kept in touch with us to make sure we were updated on all the road and weather conditions. Easy to ski in/out to Snowbird, and a shuttle is available to take you to Alta. We highly recommend it!

Super place for two people! The place is quaint and cozy, dare I say romantic! The view is spectacular. It was very clean and so warm and inviting after a day on the slopes.

Spotlessly clean with stunning views and ski-on, ski-off convenience. Stayed here with my son for his high-school graduation present. Amazing views of 11,000 foot Mt Superior from condo window. Owner Steve was super helpful with advance info and always available to answer any questions. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

This place is very nicely done and convenient to both Alta and Snowbird for skiing. There is a shuttle that will take you to either resort. The owner is very easy to communicate with and the the condo is very comfortable.

I stayed with my son for four nights and everything was perfect. There was plenty of space for the two of us, a place to park, shuttles to the mountains, access via skiing to Snowbird and a nice view. Steve provided ample and detailed information so there was no room for confusion. He was also very quick to respond to any inquiries from booking to leaving. Would definitely stay again!

One of the best maintained and cleanest VRBOs we've ever stayed in! This was a wonderful place to stay for our time skiing at Alta/Snowbird, and we hope to stay there again in the future. Size is just right for two, with a well-stocked kitchen with everything we needed to make our meals (recommend bringing groceries from the city). Shuttle service to Alta was a little tricky, but we'd consider this place ski-in/ski-out to Snowbird and it's just as fast to transfer to Alta after riding the Snowbird tram. Thank you for maintaining and sharing such a gem of lodging in Little Cottonwood.

This condo at Alta Blackjack was immaculate. It was incredibly well stocked, very clean and tidy, and even better than the pictures let on. Steve was a wonderful and very attentive host who was very forthcoming with helpful information and answers to our questions. This was out first time visiting to ski Alta and Snowbird and we will absolutely be back, and would rebook here without hesitation.

We had a great stay! The unit is lovely with a great view. Everything was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. Steve was one of the best hosts. He’s a great communicator, helpful and the unit had a lot of nice touches like toiletries and even some food supplies in case of interlodge lockdown. Location is so convenient with the Alta Shuttle stop at the end of driveway.

I can’t say enough about Steve’s condo. Everything about it was just right for my solo ski retreat. The kitchen was well appointed and stocked with all the basics needed to complement the food that I brought to cook, the bed was very comfortable, and the location could not be better. Very quiet yet so convenient to both Alta and Snowbird. I’ll definitely return!

The studio was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. The place had everything we needed including a fully equipped kitchen, a stunning view of a mountain across the way and was just steps away from the trail making it extremely easy to come in for a hot lunch. Steve was phenomenal to work with and provided extremely helpful information for our stay. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The property was great! We could ski right in and right out from the lodge and a free bus service to get to any restaurants needed. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. Would suggest getting some groceries for yourself to take advantage of the kitchen so you can stay warm in the condo.

We spent the week at this condo and it could not have been more perfect! It was incredibly clean, had everything we needed to cook in a luxury kitchen, the heat lamp in the bathroom was a great plus, and the radian floors kept us cozy. Hoping to come back again!

Standish 3 night stay
The stay was wonderful and the property was great. There were only 2 minor comments to Steve, and this prevented excellent reviews in all above categories.
1) The shower/tub drain needs to be cleared up. The water drains really slowly while showering and ponds in the tub.
2) The temperature in the condo was not easily controlled. The thermostat was at 60 when we got there and condo was hot (estimating 75-80 degrees). We tried turning down a bit but it didn't do much if anything with overall condo temp, so we ended up cracking the window at night while sleeping. Maybe we didn't understand the thermostat directions??
Otherwise, condo was super. Wonderful kitchen with everything you would expect in a stocked kitchen (non-food wise). It worked well for the two of us, and location is perfect for Alta/Snowbird alike.
