Situated in Homer, this charming condo for $324 per night is a great option for your next trip. The Old Inlet Bookshop, Mermaid Café and B&B is located on Main Street in beautiful downtown Homer, just off the Sterling Highway towards the beach. In a renovated historic log cabin, there is a used bookshop offering quality used books in most genres. Next door, there is the Mermaid Café that serves lunch and dinner. Upstairs is the Mermaid B&B in a charming Victorian style construction--it is well appointed and features local artwork. In a private, wooded setting in Old Town, Homer, the Mermaid B&B offers a scenic, clean place to stay with a queen sized Posturepedic bed in the bedroom and a full sized fold-out futon in the living room. The dining room is in the turret with windows looking out over Kachemak Bay and the mountains and glaciers beyond. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything one needs to prepare meals. Private deck offers ocean and mountain views and is a great place to enjoy coffee or any other beverage. The establishment is within a few minutes walk of the beach, grocery stores, banks, post-office, movie theater and other dining opportunities. We include fresh locally roasted organic coffee beans. This was the perfect place to stay! My uncle, dad and I were in Homer for a fishing charter, and this little place at the Old Inlet Bookshop was the perfect spot! We loved the views, walked to every meal, Bishop’s Beach, and all slept comfortably. I hope it’s available the next time I visit Homer because I want to stay here again.

This is a beautiful place located above a unique and charming book store. Within walking distance to several great restaurants. The owners are friendly and left some awesome welcome treats. Would definitely stay here again. Homer is beautiful.

A five minute walk to the beach, this place was ideal. It was set above and behind The Old Inlet Bookshop. The apartment was perfect for my sister and I for two nights. Fresh flowers, coffee cake, and fruit, along with plenty of tea, coffee, and condiments awaited us. It was peaceful and comfortable. Communication with the host went off without a hitch, and check in and out were super easy. I would highly recommend this place if you stay in Homer.

The VRBO was so quaint and cute. Great location right near downtown. We had beautiful views of the water and mountains when sitting out on the deck. I wish we could’ve stayed much longer there. Thank you!!

This Ocean View Suite was more than a suite - it was a Home !!! Bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room - everything you need for a short or long stay. Would definitely stay here again !!

I really enjoyed this place as it was quiet and very comfortable. Plus, there is a used bookstore attached to it. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to browse, but it looked like an interesting store.I would recommend this place to anyone.

Charming apartment located within walking distance to bakeries, restaurants, and the beach! So convenient and the views are to die for! Andy and Sally were lovely hosts, making sure I had everything I needed...Fresh flowers, fruit, and coffee cake greeted me upon arrival. Very welcoming, neat as a pin, and very homey. We loved our stay in the Oceanview Suite! The apartment is comfortable and nice with a view of the mountains and a bit of the ocean. The kitchen had what we needed for our three day stay and we appreciated the fruit basket and other items for breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the living room was a nice spot to relax in.
The location to all activities and sites around Homer is outstanding and within walking distance of much of it. There are many restaurants nearby (we loved Two Sisters Bakery!) and you are just a couple blocks from the beach and are on the Spit within a few minutes drive as well.
Andy was very communicative via text and we talked to him in the bookstore downstairs as well.
All in all, a fantastic place to stay and we will look for it again on our next visit to the area.

This is the most charming 1 bedroom apartment with a great view of the mountains from a breakfast nook. Quiet close to the water neighborhood. If you are a reader - just head to the bookstore downstairs and you could browse for hours, One of the nicest/quaintest places we have rented!

We had a grand time here. The two of us enjoyed a central location, clean unit, comfortable bed, great shower, beautiful view from the bay window/dining area. We had 6 addition guests for one breakfast and one dinner—had no oroblem seating 6 at the dining room table and two at the short kitchen island bar.

What a wonderful apartment! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Apartment; it is a beautiful little apartment roosting above an amazing bookstore, a stones throw from the beach. The owners are so responsive and attentive, and every little detail was just perfect. This will be our new destination in Homer when we are a small group.

Great Stay, Great Host, Great Place
Place was well appointed and had a great view from deck and kitchen table. Bed was comfortable and all was very clean. Living room furniture and rug were aged but we really didn't use the living room so it wasn't an issue. Host was very friendly and accomodating.

Super clean well equipped spot on top of a cool bookstore. Andy and his wife were very welcoming. The view was fantastic outside the lovely kitchen nook. A porch with chairs looking out to the water over the rooftops of Homer sealed the deal. Hope to be back! Can’t miss with this place.
