Our Youth STEM Program spent a week in USVI assisting in coral restoration projects with UVI. Stone's Throw was the best space for learning and relaxing after a long, often challenging day working in the sun and below the sea. Everything was fantastic!

Other than distance from town the house and view was amazing, peaceful, very secluded and private, would recommend renting a car, taxis don’t like to go that far but will for a small fortune, so much nature and beauty to take in, excellent for large groups

Family get together by the ocean. Always recharges our batteries. The house gave each of us privacy if needed yet the family time together could be spent at any level of this beautiful home. Two very minor issues with the property which Doug remedied in expeditious time. He was gracious and so quick to respond. The location was very private and secluded on this side of the island which we enjoyed. The views were beautiful and we loved watching the sunset from the patio. And being able to sleep with the windows open was icing on the cake. If we have the opportunity to come back we will certainly reach out to Doug.

Stone’s Throw was the perfect home for our family vacation. The home was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. Spectacular views, beautiful pool, and nice amenities. Located on the very private west end of St. Thomas, about 30 minutes from most tourist attractions. Host Doug and manager Rafael were very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!

Stones Throw
The property was great, very spacious and well stocked with pretty much everything you need. It was like home away from home. The view was amazing and we appreciated the fans and ac units in the rooms. Doug was very accommodating and responsive to any requests or concerns we had. Enough parking for 3 cars. There were some pest control issues but other than that the stay was lovely. A suggestion would be to pave the road leading up to the home, if that’s within the owners control.

My husband and I rented this house with 3 other couples to celebrate our new marriage and we had an amazing time! The house is beautiful. 8 adults stayed here and we never felt crowded. The house is beautiful and the views are even better! Doug was an excellent host! Would definitely recommend.

Awesome views!
My family and I enjoyed our relaxing stay at stones throw. The beds were very comfortable. Doug is a good communicator if you need anything.
Cooking meals was our main source of meals and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Paradise
We had a great time staying at Villa Stones Throw/Estate Fortuna. The views are incredible and we spent a lot of time on what we called the “lower terrace” by the pool. There’s plenty of space to spread out, we were a group of 5 adults and we each got our own room. For anyone planning a first time trip to St Thomas this property is pretty far from town or other excursions so definitely plan on renting a car and driving quite a bit. Overall 10/10, the property is fantastic and Doug was wonderful. We didn’t want to leave :)

Wonderful Stay at Stones Throw
We had a wonderful time at Stones Throw. The view was amazing and the house was perfect for our family. It was clean, spacious, and the decks were great! Doug was so accommodating and communicated quickly. We had a rental car to get around the island. We packed our lunch in a cooler from the house and enjoyed beaches, fishing, snorkeling, etc. Each morning we loved sitting outside with a coffee and with an awesome view of the sea. The pool deck was perfect for us (And beautifully lit up at night). We sat out at the pool whenever we were home. Magen's Bay is gorgeous and we really enjoyed being at that beach. We also loved the day we spent at Sandy Beach at Botany Bay which is right close to the house. You have to park outside the gated community, sign in, and walk the concrete road to the beach (1+ miles) and be prepared for hills (we did learn that they send a shuttle at 8:30, 12:30, and 4, so plan accordingly if you need a ride). The beach was beautiful and only a couple others were there. We are all so glad we spent the week at Stones Throw in St Thomas!

Priceless View with all the Comforts of Home!
Estate Fortuna / Stone's Throw was perfect for our group - 3 families, 6 adults and 3 teenagers. Each family had their own floor and bathroom with all the comforts of home for our 10 day stay. We spent our days out exploring various beaches and our evenings grilling and playing games/cards out on the beautiful deck overlooking the water. Having a pool onsite was an added bonus that we definitely took advantage of. The property owner, Doug, was great to work with and was extremely responsive and helpful; he has everything you need to help make your trip more enjoyable, extra beach towels, coolers for going to the beach, games, the list goes on and on. Our group would definitely recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

This property has breathtaking views. It is secluded and very relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend. If you’re looking to be downtown this is a bit of a drive but to us it was worth it. Property manager was easy to contact and helpful. Thank you!!

This property met and exceeded our expectations. The description is accurate but beyond that I would add... The host provided a lot of information about St Thomas including activities, places to eat and where to buy groceries. He gave us detailed driving information and was in touch when we arrived to make sure we could find the property. When the island wifi experienced some problems he jiggered it so we were not without service. The home is spacious and there was plenty of seating for our family of 9 to sit on the deck or at the large dining table or around the pool. Three deck areas provided space for those who wanted a quite area to read while others talked. The kitchen (there are two kitchens) was well equipped and we prepared most of our meals. There are bedrooms on all three levels so those who wanted to sleep late had a quiet place to do so. The home is decorated with an island vibe and the setting is magical. In the winter there is a clear view of both the sunrise and sunset. The property is high on a hill with a beautiful view and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is completely private. We found it interesting that the electricity is solar and the water comes from purified rainwater. The week wnt by too fast and we hope to return.

The area still around this villa was so quiet. The pool and views were amazing. We could see PR and STX… The AC in each bedroom was so great. Having 2 kitchens renting the whole 5 bedroom was perfect. It is located just 17 min from the U of the Virgin Islands where I worked for the whole month of November, 2021.

The view was everything
This property is on the west side of the island. The west side is a little more quiet and would be considered away from the city. But the city is only 15 minutes away. When we arrived at the airport our rental car didn't show because our plane arrived after 5pm and they closed, so we took a taxi. Doug gave us very detailed GPS coordinates. It got us there just fine. There is a few signs to watch for as you are approaching Fortuna Rd. Rafael met us there to let us in and answer any questions we had. My husband and I stayed on the top floor, my twins on the main level - each with their own room, and then my oldest son and his girlfriend in the lower level. Our bedroom was like a loft with no door, so if you want it to be super private just be aware of that. It's still pretty tucked away you can't see the bedroom from downstairs. Each bedroom has an air conditioner. The main house doesn't have AC, but there is patio doors with screens that you can open up. It really felt great on the deck, the ocean breeze was pretty amazing. You could probably sleep outside on the deck if there was a cot or a hammock! We ate outside on the deck every night! There is mosquitos so make sure to have some bug spray. I think with all of us in and out of the house and opening the doors they just made their way in. We got to see 2 resident turtles that live under the deck, they were so cool! They would come out and eat some of the fallen fruit from the trees. There were a lot of cute little lizards, there was a HUGE iguana that was sunning itself on the top of the driveway one day! It scurried pretty fast once we started the car. There is beach towels, and a basket with extra sunscreens. There is some sand toys in the laundry closet. There is a washer and dryer which is great when you have dirty clothes. We made a day trip to the "cost u less" on the other side of the island for a food run. We also did a boat trip with Captain Bryan with Seas of the Day Characters and Tours. It was so incredible to get to see St. John's and the kids went snorkeling and saw sea turtles. The other days we just hung out at the house and cooled off in the pool and hung out on the deck in the shade, and also in the sun. This place was a little slice of heaven if you love to relax away from crowds and just have family time. I would say the view and the pool was my favorite part of the house. And of course you have to see Magens beach which is 20 minutes away, but so amazing!

Peaceful Slice of Paradise
Beautiful home on the quiet west end of the island. Excellent communication with the Owner/Host. The home provided a terrific retreat for my family. Wish we could have stayed there forever!!! The beautiful ocean views and sea breezes were exactly what we needed and all available amenities allowed you to do as much or as little as you wanted to during our stay.

Stones Throw – What a beautiful place with magnificent views. Photos do not do it justice by any stretch of the imagination. Once you walk on to the balcony you are in awwe. Very quite and secluded area. The property is gorgeous, two decks, perfect pool with a little bench area hidden in the trees. The house feels like a summer home, very comfortable and homey with everything you need and more. Two kitchens, a grill, washer & dryer, everything you need to have a great stay is there. I recommend rent a car, and be prepared for the drive if you plan a lot to do on the island as well, taxi and bus system not readily available out here. The owner Doug was great and answered any questions we had and quickly obliged any request we had during our stay. We made some great memories here and definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks for having us!

Villa had unbelievable views and decks to enjoy them from. The pool was perfect for adults and kids. Very quiet and tranquil end of the island. Would recommend renting a car as taxis can be pricey especially when heading to the east end of the island.Communication with owner and property manager was excellent.
