Perfect spot in the most beautiful place in Mexico

Beautiful place with great views of the lagoon, it's also close to all the restaurants and bars. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff was super courteous and friendly. The walk in access to the lagoon is a huge bonus.

Beautiful sanctuary right on the lake!

Amazing location with private access to the lagoon! Only four rooms so the stay feels very exclusive and the hosts make you feel special! Lake was incredible, wonderful deck area where you can relax with a book! Nice drinks available to order! Gym equipment that can be used too! Breakfast was lovely, and made fresh to order! Rooms were a great size, very clean and modern! Beds were very comfortable and sheets super soft!!

On the last day the water in the shower seemed to be a bit treated, which made our skin a bit irritated.

Serenity in the form of a great facility with a beautiful garden with private lagoon access.

The room was rather large, nicely decorated with a great layout and a balcony with a view of the lagoon. The view was spectacular. The location is a bit away from the city center, which is good because the water is clean and clear, and it is very calm at the property.

The wi-fi was a little on and off.

Feel like a celebrity at your (almost) private hotel!

Quiet, only 4 guestrooms, beautiful view, diving into the wonderful clear blue water from the jetty of the hotel. Very kind, helpful and professional host (Yuri, hopeI I write it correct). They have their own restaurant for breakfast and lunch, wich was very good.

The only negative thing I can think of, was no matrasses for the sunbeds in the garden.

Exceptional

It was a little paradise in Lagoon Bacalar! The view was exceptionell and we felt like in a privat house, because the hotel is very small with only a handfull of rooms. It was very calm and piecefull, so that we could recover after a 5 weeks round trip trough Mexico. We can highly recommend this hotel.

pretty, nice view from balcony, friendly staff.

this is not a 5 star hotel more like a B&B as they only service food until 3,30pm and the bar is open until 5pm, and a taxi ride to the nearest town. gym facilities is an exaggeration just 3 bikes near the dock. very expensive and at this price breakfast should be included. we were on the top floor and the roof was palm leaves we should have had mosquito nets over the beds! basically Booking.com are upselling.

with the changes in the mattress and sitting in the room everything else will be perfect !!!

The privacy, the grounds, the soft music, the fact is all adults and the service just to mention some… Yuri was excellent and the rest of the staff very helpful as well it has been one of the best places I have stayed in my life.

the mattress is too hard the sitting in the balcony (it should be nicer to have a couple sit like the one in the restaurant or at least 2 chairs beside of the floating chair )

Horrible stay, one of the worst I've had if not the worst

You can see the lagoon.

It's laughable that they describe themselves as a hotel (they don't even have a proper restaurant), but more laughable - a ´5-star´hotel....whyyyyy??? Wait. A boutique hotel...No. They have no idea what either means. It's a 2-star Airbnb or something like that, where you have to let them know when you're arriving, when you're eating, etc... The only staff (a woman) was outright rude, disrespectful and was offended if I asked her for anything at all. She seemed to be offended or something. She kept interrupting my naps, even when I was in my room; she just kept knocking on my door. I guess she hates her job. Food is a huge disappointment. The same woman made it sound as if there are no fresh fish In Bacalar, turns out she just goes out to the grocery store and buys everything (she said this and was clear that the pasta was pre-made)...Bacalar has excellent cuisine, they just don´t bother buying fresh stuff at this place. Also, they do everything so you can't have breakfast...limited from 8.30am to 10.30am, very little variety and half what's on the menu is unavailable. If you get fruit, it's not fresh (it's very easy to get delicious fruit in Mexico, so I guess they just don't want to). Lunch. Ugh. Few options and if you don't order by 2pm, you get no lunch. There are no dinners available. They have no pool and access to the lagoon is hard since there are no stairs to get in and out and the dock is quite high. I asked the same person about this and she almost made fun of my question. She said no pool is necessary in this place (properties around all have pools). The wifi is horrible. Horrible experience, never had I been treated this way. I read reviews (wish I'd done this before, I have a really good eye for great hotels) and I'm not the only one with such an experience.

Gorgeous! Just what you would think and want

I loved how private it all felt plus the limited number of rooms means less people. Our last night/day we were the only guests on the property. The staff was great and accommodating. I would come back here!

Breakfast was just ok options were great just a miss on flavor. I wish there was at least another hammock by the water.

Amazing stay at the Bacalar Laguna

The room is designed with an eye for detail. It has his own balcony and amazing view on the Bacalar Laguna. The EcoFriendly honey soap was so good we ask for the address and we drove to buy it. Very Kind Staff !

Perfect beautiful location on the Lagoon

Beautiful peaceful location just on the Lagoon. The staff was extremely friendly, breakfast was delicious and it felt almost like we have our own personal Lagoon. Absolutely gorgeous spot!

Stunning location and Judy and Andreas were great.

The staff were fantastic, Judy and Andreas couldn’t do enough to help and make our 6 night stay perfect. The breakfasts were lovely.

We knew the room didn’t have a TV but we had no idea that there was a massive TV in the bar/restaurant which would have been nice to watch a footballl game but it was off limits to guests, you’re seated on the balcony. On our last 2 nights there were people above us as there are only 4 rooms. The noise makes it very hard to sleep, they were real stompers unfortunately. There is no option for dinner which was disappointing. There are lots of lovely options in town from fine dining to a fantastic burrito van called Mi Burrito. The lunch and bar menu at the hotel was a bit overpriced so we didn’t eat/drink there.

View was pretty, but that's it.

Value is not worth the expensive price. For this price you expect a real 4 star hotel experience. Our sheets were dirty on the first night, they had them changed but only after we asked the next day. Didn't have much choice for breakfast, as an excuse they said they didn't have any flour. For the last day, we asked for packed breakfast to go, and we got half a sandwich which was missing bread! I think they really are trying, but not hard enough for the price you have to pay. Especially since it's only 4 rooms! Not that hard to plan ingredients. There are far more affordable options in Bacalar with a view equivalent to this one. Choose wisely.

Absolutely stunning - stay here!

This property is absolutely stunning!!! I highly recommend. The room was one of the nicest I’ve stayed in. It’s so quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was really good too!

There was some obtrusive construction on the street that made it difficult to drive back and forth to the town. I imagine this issue will resolve soon though & the road will be better!

Beautiful, relaxing and peaceful retreat in nature.

The property was stunning and it was a beautiful location, right on the lagoon! They had paddle boards and a pier to jump off and go swimming. The breakfast was lovely and they gave us coffee in a French press which was great! The room was spacious and had everything we needed- they even offered beach hats and beach bags in the room, which I thought was a really lovely touch. I would definitely return!

The property is a shirt drive out of town and the restaurant closes at 3.30pm, so if you wanted to have dinner you would need to drive to a restaurant in town. However, the restaurant and food they offer for lunch is excellent!

A hotel made more special because of the staff.

This property is all about beauty , peace and tranquillity. And it is managed by wonderful people who make you feel special from the moment you arrive. Our hosts, Juan and Yuri were there to greet us at the lovely outdoor reception area. Both continued to be a daily presence and added so much to our stay. Juan answered any questions we had about the area and also gave us great recommendations for evening dinners out in Bacalar. His manner is warm and inviting and one can tell that he is an experienced hotelier. To our mind, Yuri is the perfect match to La Albarina. She took great care of us at the restaurant each breakfast and lunch, always attentive , always exacting and efficient. She is a great asset to this hotel. The rooms themselves are spacious and clean. The beds and linens are very comfortable. The view from each room is beyond compare. The outdoor dining area offers the same perfect opportunity to enjoy the magic of the lagoon. Each meal is individually prepared and all were delicious. The rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were attended to quickly and always with a smile. Thank you Juan and Yuri for making our week at La Albarina such an enjoyable experience.

Not worth it. Stay elsewhere.

Property is beautiful and quiet.

This is a stunning property that was positioned as a luxury stay but felt like self serve. The first room we had was so noisy however we were able to move to another one after we complained. The owners never introduced themselves or asked us what we needed. They didn’t offer any advice on things to do and left us with security guards who followed us around. I felt so uncomfortable the whole time. For the very high price just not what I expected. We were practically the only ones there too which tells you a lot. Foe a place like this I expect more than renting a room, I expect an experience.

Best experience ever!

The place is stunning. The staff made me feel like I was family. Super comfy bed. Amazing view from my balcony, were I woke up to enjoy their amazing coffee while watching the sunrise. Just the most amazing place. I hope to be back soon. Alejandra is the best hostess ever!

it was like staying in paradise!

the property is absolutely gorgeous. It feels like paradise to wake up with the beautiful view of the lagoon and have breakfast on their little patio. The little palapa on the lagoon, the lawn and the rooms were all beautiful and very comfortable

they had problems with the water pressure but Alexandra got it fixed right away
