10 minutes to Oaklawn!!\n6 bedroom farm home on 14 acres.
About this farm stay rental
Nestled in Hot Springs, this attractive farm stay for $571 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Our Craftsman home, the adjacent dairy barn, and dairy plant building were placed on the National Registry of Historic Structures in 2013. Our 14 acre property was a part of the original Humphreys' Dairy Farm that opened in the early 1900's. The dairy farm was owned and operated by four generations of the Humphreys' family until it closed in 2007. We feel very fortunate that we were able to acquire such a historically significant property from the original family! The home was originally built and occupied by Mr. Humphreys, the founder, and other family members. As you enter the home from the expansive front porch, you enter a large foyer. On either side of the foyer are parlors with fireplaces. An attached bathroom has been added to one of the parlors so it can also be used as the sixth bedroom. This room has a day bed with trundle, along with a sofa and other seating. Behind the foyer is the large dining room with the original furniture, on loan from the Humphreys' family. The dining room has a wall of windows that look out to the cheerful sun porch. Adjacent to the dining room is the kitchen. The original kitchen has been totally updated and expanded. During the renovation, a brick fireplace was discovered in an interior wall. It is now a focal point in the kitchen. The kitchen table was made by the Humphreys from trees cut on the dairy property. Also downstairs is the original master bedroom. This bedroom has a king size bed. The adjacent bathroom has been updated, including a jetted tub. During the course of time, the upstairs was converted to four apartments for workers to live in. Each apartment had its own kitchen. All four apartments shared 1 bathroom! We have removed the kitchens and replaced them with updated bathrooms, so each bedroom now has a bathroom. One bedroom has a king bed. The other three have queen beds.

It was our first stay in the Hot Springs area. The owner was so kind and accommodating. The kids (and some adults) loved seeing the small cows, horses, donkeys and goats. The owner even gave the kids buckets of feed and allowed the kids in the pen with the small goats. With adult supervision, of course. From grilling out, to having water balloon and water gun battles, this place was just what we needed. We plan to be back again next year.

Even though there is still a lot of work needing done to the house and barn, it was a very enjoyable stay!! Large home where we entertained 40 people for dinner, was well equipped. The children and adults playing games filled both the yard and home with laughter!! We then set up the barn for our Reunion with 90 attending. Was thankful for the rain to help keep cool. A/C's worked great but we put visqueen on the outside doors to help keep cool air in. Can't wait to come back and see it when they finish with all the remodel. Bubba's Catfish, Stephen, catered and did an amazing job setting up buffet style. The fish was off the hook 😊!! Our VRBO host, Luther, was really informative and helpful before and after check-in.

House was nice, but still needs some repairs and TLC. There were only 2 towels and 1 washcloth in each bathroom (no extra that we could find) It would have been nice to know we needed to bring extra towels. Overall it was clean except a few cobwebs.

The stay took me back to a time in life when things were simple, and family was close. There were 13 members in our group. Children and grandchildren from the United States and Europe. They had never experienced anything like the Humphreys Farm. We will all cherish our time there for the remainder of our life.
Luther was very accommodating in every way and always just a call away. A combination of the Waltons and Bluebloods family time is the best description.

Owner was super 👌 accommodating, quick to respond. The animals in a pen was a unique and very much appreciated experience for my little ones. We felt it's a good roomy, calm place to stay, and for our overall stay it was great and would stay again, if we're able.

Perfect for multiple-family Thanksgiving
We had 15 people…2 families with kids, 1 couple, and 2 individuals…and everyone had room to spread out!! We loved having 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms!! Our teenage son claimed a parlor as his own personal space! The grounds were beautiful and the kids loved exploring! Great photo ops!!

We booked this for 12 family and friends. Everyone fell in love with the house and the property. There was enough space for everyone to have privacy in their own rooms as well as enough living and dining rooms to accommodate all of us eat and socialize. Would definitely recommend this to any large groups or gatherings.

We drove in from Little Rock airport and the route to the farmhouse was very scenic and hilly. We found the property well maintained and the lawn freshly cut. The expansive front porch is very inviting and a great place to begin or wind down a day. The home is well lit inside and out and it is easy to transition from one area to the next. The kitchen is big enough to accommodate 5 people working in it as we prepared a meal together on the first night. The dining room table was large enough to accommodate all 10 of us. The house was well appointed and immaculately decorated. There are six bedrooms and each has its own bath which was perfect for our party of 10. The beds were extremely comfortable. We arrived with one day's notice as our previous rental suddenly became unavailable due to a power outage. Mr. Luther responded to our inquiries right away and provided us with instructions on how to access the home. He stopped by to greet us shortly after our arrival to give more information. He was very friendly and hands on. Our stay was way too short to fully take in the whole place. The home is located next to a vintage shop also located on the property that is as charming as the home. A few members of our party shopped there during our stay and came away with good finds. I would definitely stay here again and for a longer time in the future.

Spacious farmstead accommodations with separate bathrooms for each bedroom. Conveniently located to Hot Springs and other points of interest. Caring and responsive hosts. If you brought children there was a crib and additional small beds available. Great place for large gatherings.

Great group getaway!
This is the ideal property for a large group. Six couples stayed in this wonderful, comfortable, historic property over Derby weekend at Oaklawn. The home is beautifully furnished with antique, farm and cow memorabilia that reflect the home's age and history as dairy. A real bonus is the size - six bedrooms, each with their own full bath - plus the large farm kitchen, dining room and living areas. We had plenty of space and never felt crowded. Quite a bit of time was spent in the kitchen where we had all the appliances, dishes, and gadgets we needed - it's fully furnished. In addition, the owner was very responsive when we encountered a couple of minor problems.
If you've ever tried to find accommodations for a large group, you know it's not easy. This is our third try to find the ideal place and we're already planning our next visit to this beautiful property. We hope next time the weather is better to allow us to use the front porch and explore the grounds.

Great House, Great Location
We had a group of 10 adults and 2 children stay for two nights. It completely met the needs of our party with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms available. The kitchen was nice and two dining areas were usable for our group. The grounds and really pretty as well. Would definitely stay again.

Great for 5 Couples
We had a group of 5 couples that stayed here for a weekend to go to the horse races. We will definitely go back! Everyone had their own bathroom which allows for some privacy. The beds were comfortable. The owners were great and very responsive and the only thing that came up was a password issue on the internet. This house reminded me of going to my grandparents house. I even enjoyed the slamming wood screen door. Highly recommend. The only negative I could see is that the 6th bedroom is basically the living room with a trundle bed. It can still be closed off like a bedroom and still has an attached bathroom but it is not a bedroom in the traditional sense. I think the owner tries to be clear about that in his description but just be aware if you happen to have six couples going that all the bedrooms are not created equal.

Very special place!
This place is great, superior accommodations in a lovingly restored old home. Huge bedrooms each with bath, it was able to house our entire group, EXTREMELY comfortably. To gather in the well-equipped kitchen for hours over meals was so great to be able to connect with our family. We were there celebrating a family reunion not too far away, and this worked out so well for all of us! Alicia & BJ (caretakers) were so nice, helpful and informative and not at all intrusive.
This place has a tremendous history. We spent hours walking around the grounds, ponds, and old facilities - we truly felt we were part of the past, and the future of this great great place! We even met Mrs. Humphreys who lives nearby, she shared wonderful stories!
Each bedroom and bath are clean and private, everything works perfectly. We sat on the big porch for hours, played Frisbee on the lawn, and truly enjoyed this historic property. Ice cold air-conditioning kept us comfortable, and our meals we easily prepared in the spacious kitchen. I can imagine a perfect party, wedding scene here, with plenty of room for both bridal parties - even a back staircase to keep everyone separate!
I cannot say enough good things about this place, we will definitely be back and we look forward to the additional improvements Luther & team make to the entire property.
Thank you so much for making this available!!!

Amazing Wedding Venue
My wife and I were married in this house last weekend and it could not have been better. We had 40 guests with a catered lunch and there was plenty of room for everybody. Between the dining room, kitchen, foyer, two parlors and the front porch there was room to spread out to eat and visit. The ceremony was held on the steps of the large front porch with the quests seated or standing on the lawn.
Our combined family spent both nights nights in the house with us, and again there was plenty of room and privacy. Every bedroom has it's own bathroom. The house was quiet at night and we all slept well. The house is easy to access just a few miles off the bypass.
The owner was very nice and helpful during the planning process and during our stay and was prompt to answer all emails and phone calls. This would be a great house for an extended family and small celebrations.

Excellent Family Reunion/ Fellowship
This property was a great place for our family reunion. The house was awesome for the entire family more than plenty of space. I couldn't think of a better way to spend our reunion building togetherness. The yards man was also helpful. Mr. Lewis allowed my family to bring items to the property earlier in the week to assist with the reunion. I have recommended this place to various friends since our stay. I thank them for a dynamic stay!!!!!! We plan on visiting again.

Amazing weekend!
The Dairy Farm House was a perfect place for our multi-family gathering! There was lots of space for lounging, dining together, and playing games inside and out. We enjoyed exploring the house, as well as peeking into the old barn area. Neighbors shared history of the dairy which was fun. This is the second property we have rented from Luther and as before, he is so easy to work with. Highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys a little history and wants the feel of country very near the city of Hot Springs!

Beautiful County House
This was our church's women's retreat to Hot Springs and this house was absolutely perfect!
Pros: The house is in the country but still close to everything. It took us 10-15 minutes from all of our destinations. From the hardwood floors to the decor, everything was so nice! There were 9 of us and we had PLENTY of space for everyone! The cows really fit the dairy farm theme and we are looking forward to making this an annual trip! Luther is an awesome owner! He was very nice. We met the neighbor across the street and she gave us a history lesson on the house and took a group picture of us!
Cons: The kitchen table needs to be fixed. The boards were coming up when you sat at the table. The WIFI password was not visible (we could not find it). We couldn't find any paper towels other than the partial roll that was there (not a big deal).
Until next year....

Perfect for a large group
Imagine trying to get 15 ladies, ages 29 - 66, agreeing on one thing - it's like herding cats! But the one thing we all agreed on - this place is fantastic! We tried all weekend to find one thing that it didn't have - the only thing was potholders (they must be there, we just didn't find them). There was plenty of room to sleep everyone, plenty of room for everyone to gather in one group or separate in smaller groups, or just to be alone. And even with temperatures outside around 100, the house was very comfortable. There was always plenty of hot water for everyone and towels provided for the baths. The house was very clean and full of wonderful furniture and antiques and cute little decorating touches. The wifi worked perfectly and there are plenty of TV's. The owner was very prompt in answering any questions we had before our arrival. The location gave you a country feel, but was close enough to town that you could get anywhere you wanted to go in a short amount of time. We, as a group, are already planning to making this an annual trip and look forward to staying again next year.

Lots of space inside and out, great house
We had a family reunion at this beautiful house and it worked wonderfully for us. The bedrooms were spacious enough to put down sleeping bags and air mattresses for some of the little ones and not be too crowded with the real bed, furniture, and luggage--I'd say at least two of of the rooms had space for a queen sized air mattress in addition to the queen bed there. One room had a crib and other a beautiful kid's bed that two young ones can easily share. Everything was clean and the bathrooms all seemed to be recently updated and like new.
They supplied plenty of towels and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware and small appliances, like a coffee maker and blender. With the rainy weather, the massive front porch allowed us to still spend time outside and the w/d was nice for cleaning up after the kids played in the rain. There were some mature trees in the back where we had shade all day for your outdoor games. There was ample space for parking without limiting space for frisbee, ball games, and bike riding (brought our own bikes) for the kids.
We were in a nice quiet spot without much traffic on the road yet stores and restaurants were as close as a 10 minutes drive. Garvin Gardens is very close and the lakes and things like Mid America Museum are easily reached by car.
Nothing came up while we were at the house that required calling the owner, but before the stay, he was very easy to communicate with and everything went smoothly.

Relaxing weekend!!
We had six couples stay at this house with plenty of room to spare! The house sits on 14 acres on an old dairy farm that is close enough to town to go and have dinner, but far enough from it to enjoy some quite county nights with good friends. We really enjoyed ourselves! Cant wait to do it again soon!!
