Inspired by award winning designer Kim Morris of Morris Design, Inc., Carlton Gates is unlike any accommodation in the area. Not remotely situated, Carlton Gates is in the middle of everything yet secluded from everyone. Within walking (or biking!) distance of charming downtown Carlton's many Tasting Rooms and new Swimming Pool while still centrally located to area Wineries and Scenic Vineyards. Featuring a spacious kitchen with large island and gas fireplace for guests to gather round that opens to the Great Room where good company continues among friends. Have an elegant dinner together in the dining room with built in buffet and then move outdoors to enjoy two patio areas each with their own firepit. Feeling contemplative?....take a stroll around the back courtyard or enjoy a bottle of wine in the corner Adirondack Settee under a Blue Spruce. If your group wants to enjoy a movie in the theater, it will feel like their own private screening with a 70 inch screen and surround sound. When it's time for bed, you can go your separate ways into two Master Suites, Guest Bedroom and Second Guest Bedroom. Two additional guests are accommodated on a comfy pullout sofa sleeper in the theater. We rented this place because our Son was married out at Reber's Riverside (in Yamhill), and needed a place for family coming in from out of town. And since we live in Gresham, we did not want to be traveling 2 hours back and forth all weekend. The home was EXACTLY as advertised, and I wish we would have been able to actually enjoy it more than we did. Unfortunately, we really needed it as a place to lay our heads at night and get a good night's sleep, which we did! The beds were comfortable, and the three (3) bathrooms were such a blessing. And OMG!!!! Those showers were amazing.....I just wish I could have used the bathtub in the master :0) It would have been heavenly after the long days. Regarding the management.......the best! They were always so accommodating and responsive to my emails and questions. We highly recommend this venue if you find yourself in the area.......Thank you from the Oswalt Families!

This house is perfect for a large family or group of friends. The two masters are large enough to add an air mattress and the three large bathrooms made it easy for us all get ready at the same time. The living space was open and the kitchen was well equipped for a large group. The outdoor space was perfect for kids soccer while the adults visited on the patio. And the bottle of wine added a very special welcome touch!! We would highly recommend this house and the owner as they were very responsive to all my questions and requests!!

I stayed here with 3 girlfriends for a fun wine tasting weekend. The house was fantastic. Plenty of room, big yard, bikes, walking distance to town, etc. We had a chef come one night and make dinner and the kitchen had everything she needed. Tons of space in the house with large rooms. No issues at all. We would stay here again!

This home was a perfect spot to gather our large group of siblings, celebrating a momentous birthday. The house is spacious with great opportunities to gather or have solo time as needed. A quick walk to downtown Carlton for dinner and access to wineries nearby. Clean and carefully put together, this is a gem.

The house was was perfect and spacious for our family of 6 with adult children. Yard and common space was exceptional to have other relatives come for dinner! The hosts were easy to work with and very accommodating to our schedule and checkin.

We loved our stay. The only problem we had was that my husband has trouble walking and uses a walker. It was a little frustrating having the step down out of every door. Having the city pool so close was a big attraction for my granddaughters.

Carlton Gates is an amazing home and our entire experience was wonderful! The house had everything we needed for our stay and the location was perfect for walking into town to explore the shops or find a bite to eat. I would highly recommend this location and would definitely stay again.

The property was perfect for our family attending a wedding at Abbey Farms. There is plenty of room to have space in the 4 bedroom 3 bath house and enough common area to socialize and connect in kitchen, dining & living room areas. The house and yard were well maintained.

My book club went for a wine tasting weekend. There were 8 of us and we all slept comfortably. The house is beautiful and great location. Loved the backyard spent a lot of time back there A couple of the ladies are going to go back with spouses and friends.

Best VRBO stay we’ve ever had, which is saying a lot after over 30+ different properties. The pictures don’t do the house justice, it is even more beautiful in person. It was also extremely well maintained with gorgeous landscaping. We enjoyed every aspect of the house, but especially the backyard where we would relax in the morning or evening. The house also had everything we needed, including soaps (Molten Brown 😍), coffee, dish soap, towels, and paper goods. We will stay here again when visiting Willamette!

Our family enjoyed a relaxing stay at Christmas in this lovely, spacious, well appointed home. Every detail was provided, even a beautiful Christmas tree! The house is modern, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. The bedrooms include nice private patios, and the neighborhood is quiet. Town is a short walk with many tasting rooms, it is a perfect location for exploring the area. The owner and property manager were excellent. We highly recommend Carlton Gates, and hope to return in the future.

We stayed at Carlton Gates on a 4-night trip to the Portland Wine Country with 4 of my girlfriends. The house was perfect and I would stay here again when visiting the wine country. I would recommend it to couples or families. Lots of space, and it was clean and had everything we needed. Location was great too. Thanks for a great stay!

We spent 8 days with our 2 adult children and spouses in the Portland area with the last 3 at this wonderful house in Carlton, the heart of Willamette valley wine country. We visited multiple wineries and took a sunrise hot air balloon ride. The house was perfect. Good location and well equipped with nice private outdoor space. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

This house is absolutely perfect. I went on a long-weekend wine trip with three friends and booked this house for the stay. The pictures do not do it justice, despite the fact that they are excellent pictures. The house is just gorgeous and very spacious. The decorating and layout are impeccable. It’s one of the best (if not the best) vacation houses I’ve ever experienced. It’s super close to the heart of Carlton, but you don’t feel like you’re in town; the backyard is serene. I love the kitchen! It has everything you need and is a wonderful place to gather (along with the living room). On top of the fabulous property, the host really does go above and beyond. They make sure your stay is seamless and that you have anything and everything you need. I cannot overstate how great this property is, on every level. We loved it so much we just requested to book it again for this December.

Easy access and communication with property management. Nice to receive Carlton Gates souvenir glasses for our group! Very clean, kitchen well stocked. Enjoyed using the bicycles to go into town and the outdoor fire pit was a great way to end the day for our group of 3 couples.

This is our 2nd stay at this property and it's perfect for our family which included a 3-year old. There was plenty of space for the 7 adults to spread out and relax. Thank goodness for the air conditioning as the temperature was over 35C one day.
We really appreciate not being expected to strip beds, start laundry, load dishes, etc. as part of the checking out process.
Only a couple of suggestions for improvement: better instructions for use of the TV's, and the largest TV in the "movie room" could use updating as the young adults in our group were really hoping to use it for games but could not.
The Head Housekeeper was most helpful with instructions for the TV's and looking after replacing bulbs for the back deck.
We would love to return again but we'll have to take into account the much worsened driving times these days from north of Seattle.

This property is ideally located if you're visiting Willamette valley wineries. The house is nicely appointed with lots of communal space and nice bedrooms. The Kitchen island is perfect for hanging out enjoying a glass or two.
Special kudos to the quality of the stemware!!
Setting is super peaceful and quiet - would make for a great mindfulness getaway - especially with the 'private' backyard which is beautifully landscaped.

My daughter was married at the water oasis on Friday and we decided to rent 2 homes nearby and make a weekend of the event. It was absolutely amazing the house was gorgeous great accommodations were all were very comfortable. if I could change anything it would be the faint old smell as you come in maybe plug-ins? And more creamers left for coffee also the garbage was overflowing before we even put anything in it as well as recycling . very cute restaurants in town and wineries very close by.

Has two master bedrooms on opposite ends of the house plus the other nice bedrooms. Lots of living space in the house, large kitchens and a very lush private backyard.

House was amazing. Nicely done, plenty of room, great yard and the hosts are great. Very responsive and flexible. Plus they left us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift.
