John and Nicole were great, we came up for a swim competition so didn’t get to enjoy the property as much as we would have liked but enjoyed their horses, the beautiful views, the cute cottage that is so homey. John gave us lots of suggestions before our trip on walking trials, sights and good neighbourhood eats. My 8 year old child was with me he enjoyed counting how many roosters or chicken related items we could find in the cabin- got up to 38! They also had monopoly which was a big hit with my kid as well. We will definitely be recommending their place to friends and family.

John and Nicole were excellent hosts for our stay at their lovely rustic cottage. Lots of new experiences for our young children - watching the many free range chickens outside, saying hi to the horses, and of course frequent trips into the nearby garden to stock up on vegetables for our meals. The garden fresh eggs they provided were delicious. And the well stocked kitchen made home meals a breeze.

I wanted a place I could combine different generations … my mom 92,my sister and myself (50)+ and my sisters two grandchildren (9-7) . We all enjoyed our time and felt very comfortable in the cottage. I would recommend this hidden gem to any family who want to disconnect and get back to basics , conversations, reading . Family time .

This was our second stay at this property and we plan to return again next summer! John and Nicole are welcoming hosts who happily share their lovely country farm property and guest house with those who stay with them. Lots of birds, bunnies and chickens to keep you company while you relax on the beautiful porch. Horses, deer and very friendly dogs add to the special charm of this home-away-from-home property. Lovely stained glass windows and Nicole’s many lovely paintings add to the inside charm and decor of the guest house. We were delighted to be invited to help ourselves to the offerings of the large vegetable garden and to find a dozen farm-fresh eggs waiting for us in the fridge.

We spent three days here with our teenagers, trying to get in a little QT before the school year starts up again. We played board games, read books, found a beautiful ocean beach and also a river swimming hole nearby, played disc golf in Nanaimo, and went for a hike at Yellowpoint Park. This place is remote, yet 10 minutes away from things to do! It was 'cozy' for four bigger people but we didn't mind at all. After petting the horses and stargazing at night, both kids said they would like to live at this farm! Thanks, Nicole and John!

Nicole and John were excellent hosts. They really make you feel welcome and comfortable. The fresh eggs in the fridge were amazing and probably the best we have ever had. We highly recommend staying with them. The cottage was so enjoyable to stay at. Only wish we could have stayed longer

This beautiful cottage was like going back to visiting my aunt on her farm. It’s charming and so relaxing. Loved the ivy covered front porch and the old screen doors with latches. The owners supplied everything, even delicious farm fresh eggs! No dish washer, but somehow it didn’t matter that I had to wash by hand. Nice shower. Washer and drier, back area with grill and table. Complete relaxation. Loved the horses and roosters!! Would love to go back.
