Located in Montrose, this charming house for $643 per night is a great choice for your next break. This beautiful retreat is located just minutes from the town Montrose. Open the patio doors and step onto the deck to enjoy the sight and sounds of the Uncompahgre River flowing through the acreage. There is also a stream on the property that leads to a pond. Don’t mind the deer that live in the adjoining thicket, they love the apples from our tree as much as we do. During the summer months with use of the sod cabin, our place sleeps 20. During the winter months, our place sleeps 16. On the main floor is the heart of the house, a gathering space which includes an open plan kitchen, living room, dining areas and a game table. Be sure to light the fire. Sit back and relax. Adjacent to the gathering area is the library with a queen size sleeper sofa and the ensuite master bedroom with a king size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa. The two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has full-size bunk beds. The home is set up to comfortably sleep 12 people. Across a breezeway is an apartment above the garage. You will find a fully stocked kitchen, a comfortable living room which has a queen size pull-out couch. Off of the living room is a gorgeous deck with amazing views! The apartment also has one bedroom with a queen size bed, and a full bathroom with stand-up shower. This property also boasts a lovingly-restored sod house—be sure to note the live green roof! The one-room sod home has a small kitchen and full bath. The two full size beds are located at one end of the open space. The sod house sleeps four and is available to reserve in addition to the main house May through September, weather permitting. With all three of these units, our place can sleep 20 people. During the winter months without the use of the sod cabin, our place sleeps 16. You will have access to the entire home, the apartment above the garage, and gorgeous porch and backyard--there is also river access! This home is professional cleaned, and the linens are professionally laundered. We pay our cleaners a living wage. Located just minutes from town, but you'll feel like you're in the middle of the mountains! PLEASE NOTE: Fishing on the river is acceptable with an appropriate fishing license, but is catch and release ONLY. **PLEASE NOTE: The sod house on the property is available to rent from May 1st through September 30th. The house sleeps an additional 4 people. The total number of guests the house and the apartment above the garage sleeps without the use of the sod house is 16.

We needed a place to stay close to Ophir and Imogene Pass in Colorado. This house was wonderful. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was stocked. There was plenty of room for 8 adults and 1 child. The views from the back porch were wonderful. We would definitely stay again!

We needed a large property for a last minute family gathering. This property fit the bill perfectly, not only did it have sufficient accommodations but the house and setting were beautiful and peaceful and provided the tranquility that was needed at the time and allowed the family to be together during a trying situation.

We rented property to host family for our sons wedding in Montrose. This property is a dream! Waking up, sitting on the porch with morning coffee and being visited by deer, geese(babies too!)and a fox was one of the many highlights! We even had a visit from a neighboring cow! Seems so far removed from the shopping center of Montrose but everything you need is 10 minutes away. Highly recommend!

We met our 3 kids and their families here for Spring Break. There were 19 people total and this cabin exceeded all of our expectations. We decided to stay here because of the central location to Black Canyon, Ouray, skiing at Powderhorn and Million Dollar Highway. We not only loved the hikes and excursions we did in the area but the home itself is located in a spot with the beautiful San Juan mountains surrounding us. The river running through the property, the wrap around deck, and the views from all the windows was exactly what we wanted for a vacation in Colorado. Our family enjoyed cooking and baking in the kitchen together. We even had a family bake-off that will always be a memory of ours. The kitchen was surprisingly the most well stocked of any rental we have used. The bedrooms were setup phenomenally for multi-families to relax and enjoy their vacations together. The apartment above the garage was such a great surprise and provided some privacy for us when we needed some reprieve. This is a cabin we will be recommending to everyone we know who wants to explore Colorado! Thank you for the best CO vacation we could ever dream of!!!

This home was special. It was a lovely place to gather friends. It was fully stocked with enough pillows, bedding, etc. . We wish we would of had more time to enjoy the property and sit out on the lovely porch. A lot of love has gone into this home.

I gave everything 5 stars except location. I did not realize that the cabin was so close to the town of Montrose. We expected to be more in the mountains. That said, the property was great for our kids!

We were a large family that rented the house as well as the sod house. The house was fabulous - the home is comfortable for gathering with family as the kitchen, living room area is very spacious and well appointed. The view of the river from the deck is just fabulous. We would absolutely give the house a 5 star rating. The sod house was charming and provided a true rustic Old West ambiance in the best way. One thing that caused us concern is that the downhill path between the main house and the sod house has no lighting, and posed a challenge for one of the senior members on our trip. Some pathway lighting would be a good idea. Overall all lovely experience.

We enjoyed a beautiful, even grand, river setting, with a well-designed, expansive, very comfortable house with a big deck and large well -kept yard. The kicthen had what we needed, a comfy large gathering room drew us together. We loved the super bedrooms and bathrooms that accomodated our large group.We loved watching many species of birds from the deck. Plus a doe and her fawn entertained us in the early mornings. A fire pit allowed us to sit even closer to the river for a cozy campfire ,singing , laughter and stories.

Great place, but cleaning crew needs help

Great place, but cleaning crew needs help

Great property...we stayed here for just one night, close to the airport after 4 days of skiing in Telluride. However, we arrived to an very awful smell....come to find out that the cleaning crew did not empty the garbage and recyclables from the prior tenants, along with not running the garbage disposal. There were bags of garbage on the outside deck also, along with cleaning supplies still sitting on the master bath countertops. Amy the homeowner was very prompt to our concerns, and very apologetic! The house and grounds are beautiful and very accommodating....however, the cleaning services definitely need to step up their game!!

We had a wonderful stay! Communication with Amy was great and she was on top of everything. We attended a wedding in the area so didn't have much time at the house which was a bummer as it is beautifully appointed. Everything was in great shape and we would really like to get back in the future to enjoy it more. Thanks for a great stay!

We spent only two nights at the house before heading up to Telluride. We wish we could have stayed longer. This place is beautiful both inside and out. It is better stocked than any other rental we have visited. We spent most of our time on the wrap around deck overlooking the river. Thanks for the hospitality and we hope to return next year.John

Our family of 9 adults and 4 children had a great experience at this incredibly beautiful home and property. We were there to attend a wedding at the new venue Storm King Mountain Ranch. The location was very convenient to Montrose and the venue. The home was very clean, well equipped, comfortable and accommodating. The property features unique western memorabilia and furnishings. The sod house offers a step into the past with its authentic restoration and comfort.

Clean comfortable and very well appointed with all the necessary supplies. Love the view of the river and the daily visits from the deer. Perfect for 3-4 couples or a large family Great Rec Center just a mile away with reasonable daily rates … weights, indoor track and an incredible pool.
