This is a charming 2 bed, 1 bath craftsman home located in the Historic Downtown area of Montrose Colorado, home of the Black Canyon National Park. You will find yourself nestled in the valley between three major ski regions to include Telluride, Powderhorn and Crested Butte which are within an hour drive. During Spring, Summer, and Fall, the hiking, fly fishing and golfing are unparalleled. These are just some of the amenities right outside your door. We offer a wide array of amenities to include a fully fenced back yard, washer & dryer, secure parking, WiFi, and the location is within walking distance to the Historic Downtown area, the hospital, movie theaters and parks. Come and visit us on the forgotten side of the Rockies where you are sure to be enchanted and taken back in time to a slower pace and uninterrupted views of mountains and plateaus as you explore the area. This house is yours for your visit. Please treat it as you would treat your own home. We just live a few blocks away, if you need anything please let us know. I love that there is a bike path on the same block. If you take it to the South, it will take you to the pavilion and the botanical garden. If you take it to the North it will take you to Main Street and a little further to one of the best family parks in Montrose. My husband and I had a 3-night stay here to take in the Black Canyon National Park and other outdoor activities. The location provides ready access to many of the areas attractions. Our communication with Kendra was prompt and the check-in process smooth. We were even able to check in an hour early which was much appreciated. This is an older home in an older part of Montrose. We did not have time to spend in the outdoor space, but would likely not have done so, given the cleanliness of the furniture and backyard property. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we could have needed and the living area is very comfortable. It should be noted that the bathroom is extremely small and was sufficient for 2 people but would have been a challenge with additional guests.

We stayed at Kendra’s place while attending a wedding in the area and it was just perfect for our family. It had more than what we needed and was super comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Cute Cottage
The house was very cute, clean, and comfortable. It was close to everything. Yard was great for our bulldogs, so glad to have a place we could stay with them. Easy to get in and communicate with the host. Would definitely recommend!

We were here for dog nose work trials at the fairgrounds. Cute, clean, well kept property with everything we needed for our stay including a yard for the dogs. Beds were super comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. Easy check in and check out. Will certainly stay here again if we are in the area. Short walking distance to downtown.

Colorado Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was perfect for our small family! It was clean, well stocked and the beds were SUPER comfortable. It really has anything you would need for an enjoyable stay. The owner was very responsive to a couple of questions I had. I'd recommend this property to anyone!

Enjoyed our short stay at Christmas! Good bedding, towels and warm wood burning stove for heat. Even had a Christmas tree up for us! Thanks for having coffee handy and kitchen was well stocked even though we didn’t have time to use it. We will be back another time.

All the comforts of home including a place to park your car.
Both my husband and myself totally enjoyed staying in the Colorado Cottage located at 726 South 7th St in Montrose. The house was equipped with everything you could possible need not only in the kitchen but in the bathroom and in the bedrooms also. There was a nice collection of books if you were interested in reading and of course a nice size television also. The back yard was a good size if you had a pet or children (which we had neither) and my husband was really appreciative of the fact that he did not have to park the car on the street. He could park it in the driveway. He was totally thrilled with that. Everything about the home made us feel like we were at home so our time with our daughters and their families this past Thanksgiving was a very pleasant experience and YES I would definitely recommend this property and landlady. I would also come back to this Colorado Cottage again and again.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cottage. We had a truly wonderful time there and hope to be able to do it again real soon.

very comfortable home with great location. quite neighborhood, close to downtown and great base from which to travel to other attractions, like the Black Canyon, Ouray, Telluride..... clean house with very comfortable beds. good back yard for our pets too. thanks for the opportunity to say at "The Colorado Cottage". Located in a nice neighborhood near downtown Montrose close to any thing you may need.
Montrose was a great central location for us to explore much of what southwest Colorado has to offer. The Cottage was clean, comfortable and everything worked as it should. My daughter's dog really enjoyed the the nice grass in the fenced in back yard with his own door access, and the dog park a short drive away was excellent. He will miss this place.

This home was perfect for our little family. It's in a great location where you can basically walk to everything. It was great to have our dogs with us and a fenced back yard. We will plan on staying here again!

Easy, clean, comfortable, place to stay. Everything was in good working order. The location made it easy for us to explore the small towns, parks, and canyons all within an hour drive. I would stay here again.

Nice home
The home is just as described. For those of you visiting know that the owner has many spices and the basic condiments in the home so you do not need to buy these. It was a welcome change from other homes we have rented to have all of these things provided. The owner provides great instructions for everything. It is a lovely place to stay and very convenient to town and the major highways.

Comfortable, well-equipped, stay in good location
My husband, daughter, and I stayed at The Colorado Cottage for a week in August. We found the home really comfortable for our stay. The window unit ACs did a good job of keep the house cool. The kitchen was decently stocked and had a full size fridge and stove. Everything was kept clean and was in good shape. The house is in a really convenient location for going to many of the surrounding national parks, recreation areas, or forests for exploration and taking in the breath-taking views. There are also plenty of amenities (e.g., groceries, Target, restaurants) nearby. The big yard is fenced in, but there is not a lot of shade, so we didn't end up using that too much. Kendra left clear instructions for entry, but was really hands off and gave us plenty of privacy. I got the sense that she would have been responsive, but we never had any issues for which we needed to contact her. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect home away from home!
We enjoyed staying in this home very much and will request it again next time we visit Montrose! We were in Montrose on vacation as well as to check it out to see if we want to retire here. The location of this home was great! So close to downtown that we were able to ride our bikes there. We took walks around the neighborhood and found the people we met were so friendly. The home itself was so comfortable - loved the comfy beds!

Great House and Nice Location
This was a nice home to stay in during our short trip. It was very nicely decorated and furnished with plenty of room in the kitchen and living room. It is located about 40 minutes from Ouray which was our main focal point of our trip. We unfortunately had to leave a day early due to a death in the family but we enjoyed the time we got to spend at this cute cottage.

Very clean and well maintained. Quite lovely with all amenities as advertised. Quiet and relaxing. Really helped make our trip less stressful. Very straightforward to check in. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the neighborhood.

Updated, clean, well equipped - great experience!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is obviously recently updated throughout. It is nicely furnished and decorated. The landscaping is also quite nice.the kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed preparing several meals there. For our family of five the cottage was perfect. The cottage also had wifi, cable tv, and Apple TV. The owner is very accessible and communicates well.
If you are looking for a private cottage in the woods, this is not the one for you. It is in the middle of town in a quiet neighborhood. If you want to be in town with easy access to restaurants and shopping, you will like this cottage.
