House was conveniently located in town - close to shopping, dining and downtown. Our beagle loved the fenced backyard. The house was well appointed and comfortable, and just 2 blocks from family. We hope to stay again.

Centrally located to Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Located near a charming town called Ouray with a fabulous waterfall. It’s about a 40 minute drive that was well worth it. Air conditioner is either on or off. No dishwasher.

Family with 2 adult kids so the 3 bedrooms 2 baths worked out perfect! Super comfortable house! Nice neighborhood. All of the necessities were there. We neither cooked or explored Montrose. The 3 days we were there we day tripped to the Black Canyon, Telluride, and Ouray and it was either late or were exhausted by the time we got back. A 4 star for accuracy in listing is because while there is AC, it is not central AC, but a large unit in the kitchen window. The unit worked great and could cool the house quite well, however the bedroom doors had to be open to get cool. A box fan for each bedroom would be helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Charming house within walking distance of restaurants and bars. Montrose itself is a lovely town. We were so close to National Park and were able drive back and forth easily for different programs and hikes.

This is a great homebase for numerous adventures to be had in the surrounding area. Comfortable and walkable to some great amenities like the brewery right up the street, but also central to great Hot Springs, hikes, and other outdoor adventures …which are why we came. The place was very comfortable and had a great large game table. It really made our weekend retreat memorable

This house was plenty spacious, it accomodates 6 at least and we had just 2 adults and one dog. It was great for us as we had working space and hanging out space for the week! Lots of fantastic hiking to Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Ouray, Redstone and Ridgway. We love this area of Colorado! Never made it to local restaurants but will try HorseFly and Camp Robber next trip. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and you could walk to town easily. We'd stay again, and bring friends or family. The back yard for pets was great. Could use some extra chairs out back to enjoy the sunny afternoons! Appreciated use of the charcoal grill. Thanks, Genevieve, Mark and Bandit

Older home, lightly updated, nice front porch, good yard for dog, comfortable bed. Property owner always readily available. Pest control required for bugs, spiders. Clean windows of bird poop. Deep clean in kitchen and bathrooms.

We stayed at this property in Montrose this past weekend. The home is very clean, comfortable, and has all of the necessities plus more. Kendra was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property if you need a cute little getaway during your Montrose stay.

This home provided exactly what we were looking for. A pet friendly property that was extremely clean and well appointed. We knew there was not a dishwasher going in so we took a lot of paper plates and bowls, it worked out perfectly. The new wooden fence in the backyard was a pleasant surprise, the pictures online showed a wire fence, The wooden fence provided much more security and privacy. The container of pet waste bags on the back porch made it extremely easy to clean up after her little girl. The neighborhood is very walkable and dog friendly and the proximity to everything in Montrose is most convenient. The only problem we had was with the operation of the television, we had contacted the property manager before hand to let her know that it was important to us to have a working TV and she arrived promptly upon our call to her to get the TV operating and provided us with an alternative operating devise that worked perfectly.

Great location! Close to everything. Comfortable Beds and Living room furniture, comfort is key after a long day of activities. The only thing I would have liked was a dishwasher. Maybe something for the future. Would highly recommend to anyone

This property was probably the most comfortable, most cozy, most welcoming, and cleanest of places I've stayed in in quite some time! Kendra, the owner, was awesome, and very attentive! The house, itself, was on a quiet little street within City limits, yet it was just a stone's-throw away from shopping, entertainment, attractions, and the hospital. Very generalized location, to say the least. I arrived rather late at night, and was pleasantly surprised to find the home immaculate and comfortable in temperature. The home was quite large, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The dining table was massive, and could easily accommodate 10 people. The living room and couch were also quite large. There was plenty of room for several people to stay and feel more than comfortable. As an older home located in the center of town, it was very tastefully decorated and updated without losing its vintage character. This home was equipped with everything you could think of (including a washer and dryer), so I didn't have to worry about wanting for anything. Unfortunately, I had to cut my stay short due to a family emergency, and Kendra was extremely understanding and gracious. I must say, I was really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying all Montrose, and the surrounding areas, had to offer (I used to live there). I was very disappointed I wasn't able to spend more time in my former "home-town" and visit with friends and family, but I am hoping this charming home will be available to me again upon my return to Montrose...which, hopefully, will be in the not too distant future. This home is definitely a "diamond in the rough"! I would, without a doubt, highly recommend this home if you are considering a trip to Montrose!!!

Perfect home for our house hunting trip

Wonderful fully fenced yard for our dog. Enjoyed sitting in the yard getting some sun. Home is old so you have to realize that it comes with smells and slanted floors. Wish we knew there was not any cable tv..antenna channels were few and not the news and weather channels we wanted to watch. Thanks Kendra and Dan for helping with the TV.

Loved our stay at Sussex House. We arrived later in the evening, tired after a long drive and welcoming us in the window was a lit Christmas tree! Everything you could want, is there! Love the cute signs and old decor. Linens are warm, beds are comfortable. Great stay! Walking distance to everything. Thank you Kendra!
