My friends and i absolutely loved this place and will be booking again next year. Each room was decorated for Christmas. When we first walked in the beautiful living room tree was lit and Christmas music was playing and it smelled so good. It was truly magical! The kitchen was stocked with thoughtful items and the bathrooms as well in case you forgot anything at home. Peggy does a great job making everyone who stays feel special!!!

Adorable depession era house with modern upgrades. You could feel the expansion history of Marrietta and Harmar village as you walked about. Everything about this area is charming from 800BCE to present.

Not only was the accommodation comfortable, it also was well supplied with linens and toiletries. To our surprise there was an ample supply of snacks, fresh muffins as well as food and drinks for a wonderful breakfast! We would absolutely stay again.

The home is very nice and clean. There were so many thoughtful amenities that added a nice touch. We were able to walk everywhere, which was nice. If we couldn't walk, things were just a short drive away.

This was a delightful spot for some quiet time—a little art/meditation retreat on my way to meet friends. Easy access to downtown Marietta. Quaint neighborhood. The hostess provides everything you could need, even some basic groceries! She’s very prompt with replies if you have any questions. Definitely recommend highly.

We stayed at the cottage with our adult daughter, adult son and teenage granddaughter for six days. The host family very thoughtfully left eggs, sausage, bread , milk, juice and bottled water in the refrigerator. This is the first time in our many VRBO rentals to occur. Thank you!
The description of the property and photos shown is correct. What is not mentioned is the very steep stairs to the bedrooms (there is an hand rail) and the very steep and precarious stairs to the basement to use the washer and dryer. I feel it should be mentioned in the description that this property is not handicap accessible for entrance or for occupancy.
The deck and front porch was my favorite places to sit. The house is located near a busy street that is noisy with motorcycles and speeding cars with loud mufflers, however, we had no trouble sleeping.
Overall, it was comfortable and convenient to nearby restaurants, bakery, butcher and downtown.

The property itself is comfortable and Peggy provided excellent amenities. Property is not as close to the river as it may appear on the net, but it is in a quiet neighborhood.

We had a wonderful visit to Marietta while staying at the River rock cottage. The hosts were easy to communicate with and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Thanks so much for everything. We look forward to visiting again.

This home was cute and decorated well. Very clean and the property owner was very easy to communicate with. Lots of little extras that the owner choose to have that was greatly appreciated after a long trip into town. Will stay here again! If you stay go to the Harmor Tavern, great food and atmosphere.

Everything you need for a relaxing stay. The home is super clean and well stocked with amenities. A lot of thought was put into what a traveler might need. The continental breakfast was a very nice touch. We really enjoyed the back deck and grill since most nearby local restaurants are closed on Monday. We would definitely stay here again!

Myself, husband and 3 friends went to the Blues Festival in Marietta for the weekend. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner went above and beyond by stocking a few little groceries for us. This was an unexpected surprise. The beds were comfy and the pillows nice and plump. We cooked our meals there and they had everything necessary for a kitchen. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband, two sons and I were visiting family over the holidays and decided to stay at this adorable cottage. It was so convenient to great restaurants, Main Street Marietta, and easily accessed from the interstate. Beds were so comfy, and my kids really enjoyed the Christmas decor and snacks provided. Everything was super clean in this historical home too. Thank you for a great stay, Peggy! We’d love to stay here again!

We had a great girls' getaway weekend at the Rock River Cottage in Marietta. We have returned here again and again because of the charm of the home as well as how it is stocked for all of our needs. It is very close to downtown shopping, and this year we were fortunate to be in town for a First Friday celebration- so much fun. I recommend this property if you want a causal weekend with family or good friends and don't want to think about anything but relaxing! I'm sure we'll be back to visit.

Wonderful property - clean, comfortable and good location. You can easily walk into downtown Marietta and up to the college campus. The owners thought of even the smallest of details. Will happily stay there again.

Personal touches!
Our stay was very nice! Peggy made sure almost nothing was needed for our visit. A tip would be to check the fridge and pantry before getting groceries. We are close to extended family here which made this spot particularly wonderful.

Sister Weekend
The home and property are perfect! There is plenty of room to gather in the living room or in the dining room or on the back porch. The beds are very comfortable and each room is spacious. The home is very well maintained and clean! The house is also very well stocked with towels, soaps, shampoos, curling irons. We were also impressed with the kitchen that had dishes, spices, eggs, coffee, ziploc bags and even some heartburn medicine!
The host was friendly and helpful, even when I messed up the reservation BIG TIME! She just rolled with it and helped me out.
Would HIGHLY recommend staying here.
The town is quaint and welcoming lots of good restaurants and shops to roam through.

We were coming to Marietta to take a trip down Memory Lane, Peggy's house is situated perfectly. It is not in "down town Marietta," yet it is close enough to walk if we had wanted to. It was too cold, so we drove most places.) Also, unfortunately the Harmer Bridge is out of commission, so walking to the end of Maple street and directly across to the down town district is not possible until it gets repaired. But it was a short drive to get to local places we wanted to go, so that was wonderful. The house is wonderfully situated right down the street from two excellent restaurants: The Harmer Tavern where we ordered and enjoyed their famous fried baloney sandwich; and the Busy Bee Restaurant which serves a fabulous breakfast and lunch, and they use ingredients from local farms as much as possible, which we like. I had their Ricotta, lemon, blueberry pancakes. Yum!
Anyhow, the cottage has plenty of space, a living room, a dining room, a full kitchen which has plenty of dishes, pots, and utensils as well as many other things needed like aluminum foil, spices, oil, and some things in the fridge as well. I did not know Peggy would provide some breakfast foods, but there it was in the fridge! (It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.) The bed rooms, three of them, are lovely and spacious, and we appreciated the small heaters that supplemented to main heat.
There is a full basement with a washer and dryer as well. It was really like being at home. So nice.
The only things that weren't so great is the lock box is tricky to figure out even with Peggy's impeccable texted directions; and also, we are sensitive to scents, and there are scented candles and Glade air fresheners everywhere giving off scents. We simply put them out in the back entry porch while we were there, which made it better.
The best parts about staying on Maple Street were the hominess of it and the wonderful, easy communication with the owner. Peggy is easy to connect with. So thank you for a wonderful stay!

We were all so surprised by how cute the house it. Peggy thought of everything. It was very well stocked. The beds are great. I stayed in the little bedroom with barn doors. I slept like a baby. The house was in a perfect location to downtown. We did the ghost walking tours and the Anchorage tour and we walked to that. We even stopped by the Harmer Tavern and sat by the open fire while we had a drink. It is 1/2 a block down the street. I loved the back deck at the house. It was beautiful. Thanks so much, Jamie
