Family friendly resort

We needed a layover for 1 night. It’s a good place for families with small kids, otherwise the kid activities and music may drive you mad.

Catered to families with small children, which we no longer have.

Very disappointing

The team is nice and the location is good

We stayed 6 nights in the new „3 bedroom villa with private garden and pool“ and were very disappointed! Everything is so badly and cheaply built that lot of things are already broken. Examples: one window has a huge crack, one of the rain showers is almost falling of the wall, one of the toilets is leaking dirty water from behind, the pool pump isn’t working an. The team tried to fix things themselves on our first two days but failed. Instead of getting professional help or offering us an alternative, they just gave up and left us with the situation (the toilet kept leaking, the pool pump stopped working within a day). So, no pool for us! The rainy weather exposed more issues: the „garden“ is a fake lawn on concrete so rain water has nowhere to go and it stays wet for days. There is no shelter for the cushions of the outdoor furniture, so they also get wet and stay wet for days. The team didn’t care at all to help dry or replace cushions. So, no garden for us! So don’t stay here if you are expecting anything from the „private garden and pool“. As a bonus: the safes are tiny and everyone gets a universal key opening all safes..

Fantastic location. Close to the beach and fisherman’s village. Very family friendly. Close to lots of restaurants

Great location, easy walk to beach, restaurants & bars. Spacious room in pretty grounds.

Spacious room. Well maintained grounds. Good location, easy walk to Fisherman’s Village shops & restaurants & beach. Air conditioning which was essential. Area outside to dry clothes. Fridge, kettle etc in utility area handy.

Bathroom in need of an update - very basic. Bedroom pleasant, not really deluxe. Noise at night but couldn’t identify where it came from, possibly construction.

Nice Place to stay for familys

Nice Rooms with everything you need. Clean, comfy and spacious. You even got a little kitchen with a refrigerator and a microwave. They can organise you shuttles to the airpoirt/pier whatever. The beach is just a few minutes away and shops, restaurants and a 7-1- is just right around the corner.

A very generous room with a terrace and small kitchenett which i was not expecting. Very friendly, and helpful owners. Quiet, but good location, especially for airport.

A few.little touches that housekeeping.could get on top of but that really was not an issue for me.

Fabulous

Everything. The bungalow was clean (spotless) spacious and comfortable. There were two areas outside to use - on the balcony and next to the bungalow. There was also an additional balcony area at the back of the bungalow for drying things. We loved this use of space. Silvia was fabulous! She was very helpful even when there was absolutely no benefit to her. The resort is designed for young children and what a treat it is! It was lovely hearing the happy voices of children and seeing them enjoy the many toys and facilities available to them. As a retired teacher I was very impressed by how special everything was created for children. The children appeared to love exploring and discovering the places set up for them (like the little chairs and tables under some large trees), and the air conditioned playroom near reception. There was more but we didn’t see them all. Despite this, we still found our experience to be quiet and peaceful. Fisherman’s Village is literally parallel to the road outside which has a big 7/11.

Great option near Bophut beach

Property was really well kept. Nice pool area. Attached restaurant was convenient. Most comfortable beds we've had our entire trip.

Cannot recommend this hotel or the area in general.

The kids playground and shared pool was fine.

The restaurant at the hotel was shut down for several days as they were making a new restaurant. We were not informed about this before arrival and traveling as a family with two small kids this was very inconvenient not being able to buy food on the location. There was a lot of trash and dust under the beds. There was a dog poo by the swings on the playground and after asking them remove it several times nothing happened. Located next to a veeeery busy and noisy street you have constant fear that your kids will run to the street (it's 20 meters away). They should put up a fence so it's more secure. We asked for a refund as we left the place after two nights (we had 5 planned) but they declined. This was not what we expected at all.

Quiet, small resort conveniently located for Fisherman's Village and beach.

Maya Resort was conveniently located for the Fisherman's Village and particularly the evening markets. We travelled as a family of 5 so had to book two rooms but, both of these were of a great size, clean and in a quiet area. When we arrived on Koh Samui, the island was experiencing the worst storm it had seen in 9 years. The seas were very rough, flooding the beaches and over spilling on to the pavements. As a result none of the ferries to neighbouring islands were running until the morning that we were due to travel. We had no idea what was going on but the managers jumped at helping us, making phone calls and calling a taxi for us when found out that there was one ferry going to Koh Tao. They did all the chasing and phoning around on our behalf which made it less stressful, particularly as we had 3 children in tow. Would recommend this resort for location and due to the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Laid back super friendly

Friendly atmosphere, ideal for families, excellent location, close to the fisherman's village and the beach, small but cool pool, good facilities for children and an excellent restaurant.

We found the beds too hard for our taste, although this is normal in a lot of hotels in Thailand, but nevertheless we had a very enjoyable 3 weeks here.

Exceptional

..It was just over night stay but everything was great! We arrived by plane in the evening and the taxi was waiting for us on the airport, which managed for us Maya Resort. Then in the resort was everything Just perfect. Reception Guy was so nice and all the staff There.. Also in the restaurant. Aztec bar, amazing bar with great food. Foood was delicisous. And even it was too late, they let us to use the whirpool and the pool and give us Beach towels... Next Day we met the owner and He was also very nice Guy. I Hope next time we Will have more time to spend here. Thank you! :)

Superb

Best location - close to the fisherman village, w/o the fuss. Clean. really nice stuff. Trampoline, bar, pool table.

AC in the room is really weak. We were there on a hot day and the room was really hot. Night was fine. We ordered a room w/ breakfast, but due to some confusion (I did not remember that the breakfast included) they charged us for breakfast at the cafe'.

great place to stay with kids

it was a great stay. the place is not far from the road but it is really wuite so no worries about that. it is a child friendly space (lots of children thing in the premises, room have small kitchen with proper fridge and microwave and etc) so if you have children and IF you know how it is HARD to travel with them this is definitely a good choice for you. thanks.
